The AMD Instinct MI100 GPU is a double slot card based on the Arcturus graphics processor. It is designed for a variety of industries including energy, finance, academics, government, life sciences, and more. The card features AMD’s CDNA architecture with up to 32GB HBM2 of ECC memory and a 4096-bit memory interface to deliver a 1,229 GB/s memory bandwidth. This card does not have the capability to connect any displays.
Sitting on a 7nm process architecture, the AMD Instinct MI100 GPU offers 25,600 million transistors, 7680 shading units, 480 texture mapping units, and 64 ROPs. The GPU operates at 1000 MHz, with the possibility of overclocking to 1502 MHz. It has 3x Infinity Fabric 2.0 links with a 92 GB/s bandwidth, enabling it to deliver up to 2x quad GPU clusters. Although the GPU is connected to the system using a PCIe Gen4 x16 interface, it draws power from a 2x 8-pin power connector at a maximum of 300W. It offers passive cooling and has a double slot form factor. This card is designed for high-performance workloads but also for data-intensive and computationally-intensive applications that require high bandwidth.
