Supporting up to 10x high-performance GPUs in its 4U chassis, the ASRock 4U10G-ROME2/2T server can be outfitted with dual 3rd generation AMD EPYC processors, including those with AMD's 3D V-Cache technology. 12x 3.5-inch hot-swap SAS/SATA/NVMe drive bays provide storage close to the CPUs for high-performance computing applications.
Outfitted with dual 3rd generation 7003 or second generation 7002 AMD EPYC processors, the ASRock 4U10G-ROME2/2T GPU server designed for applications in AI, AI inference and training, plus for use as a high-performance computing platform or enterprise server for databased analytics and processing. 12x high-capacity drive bays up front supporting NVMe or SATA drives natively keep data close to the CPUs for faster processing. With both processors installed it can support up to 8TB of memory. Supported GPUs include the Nvidia A100 80GB GPU offering incredible performance for a number of mission critical applications. Powering the system are 4x 1600W PSUs featuring 3+1 redundancy.
This platform supports both 2nd and 3rd generation AMD EPYC CPUs. Offering up to 64x cores and 128x virtual threads for each of the dual processors, this system is also compatible with AMD's 3D v-Cache technology providing up to 768MB of cache compared to only 256MB using standard 2nd or 3rd gen CPUs. AMD's 3D V-Cache Technology CPUs are deigned for applications requiring higher-data queuing at the processor, like Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Electronic Design Automation (EDA), and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). 3D V-Cache technology also offers benefits for architecture and engineering applications with faster render times for 3D renderings augmented by GPUs. With AMD EPYC processors there are 8x memory channels along with 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes delivering twice the performance compared to PCIe 3.0.
At full capacity with all 32x memory module slots loaded with 256GB Load-Reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules, the system can support a little over 8TB of memory. Using Registered (RDIMM) memory modules in all slots will provide a little over 2TB of memory using 64GB memory modules, which is the highest capacity module supported for RDIMMs. Memory speeds of up to 3200MHz are supported but memory speed is also dependent on CPU, memory modules and configuration. Each of the 8x memory channels per processor can be populated with one or two memory modules.
12x 3.5-inch drive bays line the front of the ASRock 4U10G-ROME2/2T server. Featuring 3x 4-port NVMe/SAS/SATA backplanes, the system can be outfitted with up to 12x NVMe or SATA drives. NVMe drive bays are provided with a x4 PCIe 4.0 connection for optimal performance. NVMe and SATA are supported natively but 8x SAS/SATA drives can also be installed but requires the addition of an 8-port HBA/RAID controller. Ax4 PCIe 4.0 slot on the system board supports a single M.2 drive for support of the operating system.
In the rear of the chassis a GPU expansion board supports up to 10x double-width, full-height, full-length (FHFL) 350W GPUs in x16 PCIe 4.0 slots or up to 20x single-width GPUs using PCIe 4.0 x8 expansion slots. Both options support a single FHFL PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for network communications. This is a double-root system so each processor is in charge of half of the GPUS supported on the system with PCIe switching performed by dual PEX88096 system switch boards. The maximum wattage of the GPUs is listed at 300W At the front of the chassis there are two additional PCIe slots, a PCIe 4.0 x8 slot and a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot both offering support for a full-height, half-length (FHHL) PCIe card. A single card slot for either an OCP 3.0 mezzanine car or Type A+B mezzanine card is found on the front panel adjacent to the other two PCIe slots and offers additional options for network communications. Depending on your applications for this server there are two 10GbE ports and a single 1GbE port for managing the system that can also be routed to the front of the system.
An integrated ASPEED AST2500 baseboard management controller (BMC) offers compatibility with intelligent Platform Management interface 2.0. It supports iKVM and vMedia support for at chassis and remote management of the system. The dedicated RJ45 GbE port on the back of the system provides direct access to the BMC for managing the system via a standard browser remotely. Additional LEDs on the front and back of the system provide tell-tale warning lights for at a glance status of various components.
The ASRock 4U10G-ROME2/2T server supports either 10x full-width or 20 half-width GPUs for computational acceleration. With dual AMD EPYC 7003 or 7002 series processors, it can support a little over 8TB of memory and can support a diverse portfolio of high-performance applications. Using AMD EPYC 3D V-Cache processors it can be used to support even more specialized applications such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Electronic Design Automation (EDA), and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Storage is flexible with native support for up to 12x NVMe or SATA drives. Alternatively, up to 8x SAS drives are supported with a discrete HBA/RAID controller.
