Up to 2x single-slot GPUs can be loaded into the ASUS RS500A-E12-RS4U Server for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing workloads. This 1U system is powered by a single AMD EPYC 9004 processor, including those with AMD 3D V-Cache technology. Supported CPUs can have up to 128 Zen 4c cores and a maximum TDP of up to 400W. To support high power demands, the chassis incorporates an Enhanced Volume Air Cooling (EVAC) heatsink. Additionally, the server can be loaded with up to 6TB of memory with speeds of up to 4800MHz when all 24x memory slots are populated.
Offering 4x hot-swap 3.5-inch storage bays that can be outfitted with either 3.5” or 2.5” form factors, the RS500A-E12-RS4U Server supports SATA, SAS, U.2 or U.3 NVMe configurations. Additionally, the motherboard includes two M.2 sockets with support for Gen4 x4 or SATA mode, accommodating up to 22110 size modules. For expanded storage, an optional ASUS PIKE II 3008-8i 8-port SAS 12G HBA card can be installed to access external capacity. The rear of the platform is equipped with a butterfly riser that supports 1x PCIe Gen5 x16 low-profile, half-length slot and 1x PCIe Gen5 x8 low-profile, half-length slot, with an additional PCIe Gen5 x16 full-height, half-length slot adjacent to these. All PCIe 5.0 slots offer 32 GT/s bandwidth, which is twice the speed of PCIe 4.0. Depending on the configuration, the system can be powered by either a 1+1 redundant 1600W/800W 80 PLUS Titanium power supply or a 1+1 redundant 1200W/800W 80 PLUS Platinum power supply.
Remote control is available through the ASUS ASMB11-iKVM given access to the ASPEED AST2600 module, which is integrated on to the motherboard. Users can control software updates, hardware, and other system components through the web-based ASUS Control Center. A license is necessary, but an administrator can oversee workstations, servers, and other equipment from a single location remotely.
