The all-flash NVMe ASUS RS521A-E12-RS12U Server supports 12x 3.5-inch hot-swap drive bays for SAS, SATA, and NVMe configurations. On the rear of the chassis, there are an additional 2x 2.5” hot-swap drive bays for SATA3 drives. Under the hood, the system features 2x M.2 sockets for Gen4 x4 link or SATA mode, which can accommodate up to 22110 modules.
Built for cloud and on-premises data centers, and for hybrid cloud environments in a variety of industries the ASUS RS521A-E12-RS12U is powered by a single processor. The system supports 9004 and 9005 series AMD EPYC processors with a TDP of up to 400W and up to 192 Zen 5c cores. Those with AMD 3D V-Cache technology are also compatible. This CPU delivers a 12-channel memory architecture for 24x DDR5 DIMM slots. A maximum of 6TB of memory can be used with either standard RDIMMs or 3DS RDIMMs. Memory speeds vary depending on the CPU generation. Up to 5x PCIe Gen5 slots are accessible through the rear of the platform. The system can be outfitted with up to 4x single-wide (FHFL) GPUs or 2x dual-slot (FHFL) GPUs, including the NVIDIA A100 and A40, AMD Instinct, and Xilinx. Power is provided by either 1+1 redundant 2000W/1600W 80 PLUS Titanium power supplies or 1+1 redundant 1200W 80 PLUS Platinum power supply.
Management is handled by the ASUS ASMB11-iKVM remote control, which includes the ASPEED AST2600 module built into the motherboard. ASUS Control Center IT Management Software helps businesses easily manage their network and devices through a simple web interface that works on different devices, no matter where you are. It makes managing tasks like maintenance and updates simpler by allowing you to control everything from one place. While you need a license to use it, the software can manage not just servers, but also workstations, commercial products, and devices from other brands.
