The 12-bay ASUS RS720A-E12-RS12 Server is designed to support up to 4x dual-slot Gen5 GPUs, including the NVIDIA A100. Its 2U chassis features 12x hot-swappable 3.5" drive bays on the front panel, compatible with NVMe, SATA, and SAS configurations. Additionally, the rear panel can accommodate an optional 2x 2.5" hot-swappable NVMe drive bays. 2x M.2 slots for cards up to 2280 form factor can be used for additional storage or to boot the system in a mirror RAID. This server is optimized for a wide range of workloads, making it ideal for cloud, data center, and hybrid cloud environments.
Powered by dual 4th generation AMD EPYC 9004 processors, including those with 3D V-Cache technology, the RS720A-E12-RS12 Server can deliver up to 128 Zen 4c cores per socket. Enhanced-volume air-cooling (EVAC) heatsinks enable higher TDP processors of up to 400W per socket. In addition, 12-channel memory architecture provides memory speeds of up to 4800 MHz. With 12x DDR5 DIMM slots per socket, the server can support up to 6TB of memory. Nine PCIe 5.0 slots on riser cards are accessible from the rear, offering higher bandwidth and seamless system upgrades. For improved connectivity, the rear panel also includes 2x optional 10Gbps or 4x 1Gbps on-board LAN modules, as well as an OCP 3.0 module. Depending on the configuration, the system can be powered by either 1+1 redundant 2600W/1600W 80 PLUS Titanium power supplies or 1+1 redundant 2000W/1600W 80 PLUS Platinum power supplies.
Administrators can handle hardware, software updates, and other system components through the web-based ASUS Control Center. The ASUS ASMB11-iKVM provides remote control with the ASPEED AST2600 module, which is integrated into the motherboard. Although, a license is necessary, administrators can oversee workstations, servers, and other commercial items in one place, remotely.
