Designed for AI, AI inference and training, machine learning, and other high-performance applications, the Dell EMC PowerEdge XE8545 server features dual 3rd generation AMD EPYC processors. It is also NVIDIA certified to run 4x NVIDIA A100 SXM4 GPUs on an NVLink board offering GPU-to-GPU data transfers of up to 600MB/s. It can be outfitted with up to 2TB or DDR4 RDIMM memory modules operating at speeds of up to 3200MT/s. There are 10x 2.5-inch SATA/SAS drive bays up front that can also be outfitted with NVME storage devices in 8x of those bays as an option.
For networking the Dell XE8545 offers dual 1GbE and a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for an OCP 3.0 mezzanine card. Additional networking devices can be installed in the one of the PCIe slots. Depending on your choice of risers, the system will support 1x low-profile x16 slot 1x full-height x16 slot and a choice of either another FH x16 slot or 2x FH x8 slots, all slots are PCIe 4.0. Power is provided by 2+2 2400W AC power Supply units. A PCIe based Boot Optimized Storage Subsystem or BOSS can be installed in one of the PCIe slots and features 2x NVMe M.2 storage devices that can be placed in a RAID to support the OS. Supported A100 GPUs with NVLink include 400W and 500W options featuring 40GB and 80GB of memory, respectively. These GPUs offer the highest peer-to-peer bandwidth at up to 600GB/s in a low-latency switchless design. With the full range of Dell OpenManage stack supported leveraging Dell’s iDRAC 9.0 with Lifecycle controller, the XE8545 simplifies data center operations. This system is air cooled and offers a chassis depth compatible with a standard rack enclosure.
