Designed for workloads at the Edge, the Dell PowerEdge XR4000r Chassis features a short depth and can operate in temperatures from -5C to 55C. It can support up to 4x separate server nodes, either the XR4510c or XR4520c. Each server sled supports a single 3rd generation Intel Xeon D Scalable processor with up to 20 cores and a maximum memory capacity of 512GB using load-reduced DIMM modules. It can also be outfitted with an optional XR4000w witness sled. The supported Dell XR4520c server sled can support 1x 250W double-width GPU or 2x single-width 150W GPUs.
The Dell PowerEdge XR4000r Chassis can be used to support workloads like virtual desktop integration (VDI), Machine vision, Video surveillance, vSAN/VM, Point-of-sale, and Data compression. This system can be rack mounted. The XR4510c is a nearly 1U sled while the XR4520c is a nearly 2U sled. The optional XR4000w witness sled can be deployed to increase reliability on this high-availability system by providing a tie-breaking decision in an edge computing environment where a 2-node cluster is deployed and one experiences a failure.
Sled ConfigurationsThe witness sled supports 1x Intel Atom C3508 CPU with 4 cores and 16GB of ECC memory and a single M.2 module. Powering the system are dual hot swap redundant PSUs with several options available ranging from 1100W to 1800W AC or DC. Each sled also has up to 3 standard cabled cooling fans. Management of each server sled is through the integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 9.0 or iDRAC 9. Dell’s OpenManage Enterprise is also supported for use with multiple servers and offers other utilities to manage power, updates, and more.
