The system has 12x DDR5 memory module slots supporting a 12-channel memory architecture, for up to 3TB of memory. Front-mounted storage on the server includes 8x 2.5” hot-swappable drive bays compatible with SAS/SATA and NVMe drive types. The drive bays can be outfitted with 4x NVMe/SATA/SAS drives, plus 4x SATA/SAS drives.

On the motherboard, users will find 2x M.2 PCIe Gen5 x4 slots with support for 2280 and 22110 cards. 8x FHFL PCIe Gen4 x16 slots are specifically for GPUs. Accelerators made by NVIDIA, XILINX, AMD, and Qualcomm are supported providing options for applications. It supports a maximum capacity of up to 3TB when all DIMM slots are populated with 256GB 3DS RDIMM modules, whereas standard RDIMM modules will provide up to 1TB of RAM. A riser card in back features 2x PCIe x16 (Gen5 x16) low-profile slots. Just below the riser slots are dual 10Gb/s BASE-T LAN ports and a dedicated GbE LAN port for managing the system remotely. Management software, like the Gigabyte Server Management (GSM), works with the Gigabyte Server Console, GSM CLI, GSM Agent, GSM Mobile, and the GSM Plugin. In order to prevent data loss and server outages, the Gigabyte G293-Z20 server features dual 3000W (240V) 80 PLUS Titanium redundant power supplies featuring Gigabyte’s SmaRT technology.
