Supporting dual 4th or 5th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, the Gigabyte G593-SD2 server is ideal for high-performance computing and artificial intelligence training. Next to the main CPU motherboard, a separate pull-out tray features up to 8x NVIDIA HGX H100 SXM5 GPUs supporting NVIDIA’s NVLink and NVSwitch technology delivering a GPU-to-GPU interconnect speed of up to 900GB/s. These accelerators are also compatible with NVIDIA BlueField-2 and BlueField-3 DPUs for enhanced storage and security. 8x 2.5" Gen5 NVMe/SATA/SAS hot-swappable bays are located on the front panel. Up to 8TB of DDR5 memory can be installed on the motherboard.
In addition to standard Xeon Scalable CPUs, the server also supports Intel Xeon CPU Max series. CPUs with a TDP of up to 350W are supported enabling processors with up to 64 physical cores and 128 virtual threads using Intel’s C741 chipset. Storage configurations using SAS drives will require a discrete SAS card. While maximum memory capacity is achieved using 256GB 3DS RDIMM/LRDIMM modules in all 32x slots, standard RDIMM or LRDIMMs can provide up to 3TB of RAM. A total of 12x PCIe Gen5 x16 slots are available on the 5U G593-SD2 server. As a dual root system 8x low-profile slots and the 4x FHHL slots, activated via a PCIe cable, are split between the dual CPUs. The 8x SXM5 GPUS are housed on a separate NVLink board connected to the motherboard via Broadcomm PEX PCIe switches. Next to the drive bays on the front panel, there are 2x 10Gb/s BASE-T LAN ports (Intel X710-AT2) along with 1x VGA port and 1x MLAN port. 4+2 3000W (240V) 80 PLUS Titanium redundant power supplies can be found on the rear of the server. The system can be managed remotely using the integrated MLAN port to access the Aspeed AST2600 baseboard management controller using Gigabyte’s Management Console web interface or Gigabyte Server Manager for large clusters.
