The 5U Gigabyte G593-ZD2 server is an AMD EPYC-based system that can be outfitted with up to 8x NVIDIA HGX H100 SXM5 GPUs. These accelerators support NVIDIA’s NVLink and NVSwitch technology with up to 900GB/s GPU-to-GPU interconnection and are also compatible with NVIDIA BlueField-2 and BlueField-3 DPUs. Dual processors from the AMD EPYC 9004 series family, including those with AMD 3D V-Cache technology, can be mounted into the dual sockets. The front panel has 8x 2.5" Gen5 NVMe hot-swappable bays, which are marked with neon green tabs. In addition, the server features a 12-channel memory architecture per processor for up to 6TB of DDR5 memory.
This is a dual root system that supports CPUs with a cTDP of up to 300W at ambient 35°C. A cTDP or up to 400W under limited thermal conditions. Feature 5nm technology, the supported TDP allows for the installation of CPUs with up to 128 cores and 256 threads, each. The maximum memory of 6TB is achieved when all 24x DIMM slots are filled with 256GB 3DS RDIMM modules. Only 2TB of RAM is supported with standard 96GB RDIMMs. The 8x SXM5 GPUS are connected to the CPUs via Broadcomm PEX PCIe switches and reside on a pull-out GPU tray featuring NVIDIA NVLink and NVSwitch technology.
The 5U G593-ZD2 server is powered by 4+2 3000W (240V) 80 PLUS Titanium redundant power supplies. The system can be remotely managed remotely by the Gigabyte Management Console web interface through the Aspeed AST2600 baseboard management controller (BMC). For one too many servers in data center applications, Gigabyte offers the Gigabyte Server Manager (GSM), which leverages the Gigabyte Management Console. It has a total of 12x PCIe Gen5 x16 slots, with 8x are low-profile slots and the 4x FHHL slots that can be used for network expansion devices. The system also supports 2x M.2 PCIe Gen3 slots, with one Gen3 x1 interface and the other with a Gen3 x4 interface. Both support 2280 or 22110 cards. This machine is ideal for artificial intelligence workloads and high-performance computing applications.
