The Gigabyte H263-S62 Server is a quad node system designed for Hyper-Converged Infrastructure and Hybrid Cloud Server applications. It is an Intel-based system, featuring 2x 5th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors per node. Each socket supports 8x DDR5 DIMM slots and PCIe 5.0 expansion lanes. There are 6x 2.5-inch Gen4 hybrid drive bays assigned to each node.
The dual 5th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processor configuration uses the Intel C741 chipset. With hardware support for a thermal design power rating of 350W, compatible processors on this system can deliver up to 64x physical cores and 128x virtual threads. Supported processors from the family include Platinum, Gold, and Silver tier processors. 8x memory channels are leveraged for increased memory bandwidth compared to previous generation CPUs. PCIe 5.0 is also supported, doubling data transfer rates compared to the PCIe 4.0. 2x 3000W 80 PLUS Titanium redundant PSUs power this system, which also features a liquid cooling solution.
Each CPU socket supports 8x memory channels per node, housing 16x active DIMM slots with both CPUs installed. DDR5 Registered DIMMs (RDIMM) and 3DS RDIMM memory modules are compatible with the H263-S63 Server. In addition, Intel Optane Persistent Memory 300 Series modules can also be installed on the H263-S63 Server. The maximum memory configuration on each node is 4TB, using 16x 256GB 3DS RDIMM modules. With a single memory module per memory channel, memory speeds of up to 4800MHz is available on this system.
SATA, SAS, and NVMe drives can be installed on the Gigabyte H263-S63 Server. 2x hot-swappable 2.5-inch drive bays are assigned to each node for a total of 8x drive bays across the front of the system. They are easily replaceable, not requiring any tools to be used. For fast access storage, a single M.2 drive slot is available on the system board of each server node. It has a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface and accepts drives with a form factor of 2280 or 22100.
There is a single low-profile, half-length PCIe x16 Gen5 slot on each node along with a single OCP 3.0 mezzanine slot with PCIe x16 Gen5 bandwidth. This slot supports next generation OCP 3.0 add-on cards. There is a single CMC global management port found on the rear of the chassis in addition to the single dedicated management port on each server node. A x4 PCIe 4.0 slot on the system board can be used for an optional M.2 card, along with an option to install an M.2 extension riser card.
The Gigabyte H263-S63 Server features a liquid cooling solution and houses 4x nodes with each node housing up to 2x 5th or 4th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. Nodes supports 16x DDR5 DIMM slots each, for up to 16TB across all four nodes. The ASPEED AST2600 management controller and the Gigabyte Management Console web interface provide remote and at chassis management capabilities which can be leveraged by the chassis Management Controller (CMC) for chassis management and multi-node monitoring. Due to the large storage capacity on this high-density server system, it is ideal for website cloud server applications such as web hosting, eCommerce applications, and file storage, plus other high-performance computing applications.
