Designed as a quad node system, the Gigabyte H263-S64 Server supports up to 2x 5th or 4th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors per node. It is ideal for Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI) and Hybrid or Private Cloud Server Applications. Each node holds up to 4TB of DDR5 memory modules. There are 8x 2.5-inch hybrid drive bays shared between the four nodes.
The Gigabyte H263-S64 Server is built on the Intel C741 chipset. Up to 2x 5th or 4th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors can be installed on each node, with hardware support for a thermal design power (TDP) rating of 350W. Compatible CPUs include those with up to 64x physical cores and 128x virtual threads from the Platinum, Gold, and Silver CPU tiers. 5th Generation Intel processors are able to leverage 8x memory channels for increased memory bandwidth compared to previous CPU generations. Intel’s Xeon CPU MAX series is also supported offering high-bandwidth memory architecture for data-intensive workloads. PCIe 5.0 expansion slots double transfer rates compared to PCIe 4.0. The H263-S64 Server Revision AAN1 is powered by 2x 2600W 80 PLUS Titanium redundant power supplies, while the H263-S64 Server Revision AAW1 is powered by 2x 3000W 80 PLUS Titanium redundant PSUs with optional liquid cooling to regulate CPU temperatures.
Each compute node houses up to 16x active DIMM slots when both CPUs are installed. DDR5 Registered DIMMs (RDIMM) and 3DS RDIMMs are compatible on this system. In addition, Intel Optane Persistent Memory (PMem) 300 series can also be used on the H263-S64 server. The maximum memory configuration on each node is 4TB, for up to 16TB system-wide with all nodes at capacity. With a single memory module per memory channel, a maximum memory speed of up to 4800MHz is available on this system.
Dual 2.5-inch hot-swappable drive bays are accessible from the front of each rear-accessible node and support SATA, SAS, and NVMe Gen4 drive types. This brings the total number of drive bays on this system to 8. They are easy to replace, not requiring any tools for installation or removal. A single M.2 drive slot can be used for fast access storage or OS installation. It has a PCIe Gen4 interface and accepts drives with form factors of 2280 or 22110. SAS drives are optional with the addition of an add-on SAS card.
There is a single low-profile PCIe Gen5 x16 expansion slot on the rear of each node as well as a single OCP 3.0 mezzanine slot with a PCIe Gen5 x16 interface. The slot supports next-generation OCP 3.0 add-on cards. A single CMC global management port is available on the rear of the system chassis providing multi-server node management of the system.
The 2U Gigabyte H263-S64 Server (AAW1) supports 4x system nodes, each with up to 2x 5th or 4th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. Nodes support 16x DDR5 DIMM slots with a maximum memory capacity of up to 4TB. The ASPEED AST2600 management controller and the Gigabyte Management Console web interface provide remote and at chassis management capabilities. Gigabyte’s Chassis Management Controller or CMC provides cost savings and simplifies network cabling and switching requirements Due to its dense storage capacity, this system is ideal for private or hybrid cloud server applications such as web hosting or file storage, plus hyper-converged infrastructures.
