The Gigabyte R163-P32 Server is powered by a single 5nm technology AmpereOne Family processor with up to 192 custom cores and a maximum TDP of up to 400W. Up to 8TB of memory are delivered by 512GB ECC DDR5 DIMM modules, when all 16x DIMM slots are filled. The system supports an 8-channel memory architecture and memory speeds up to 4800MHz. 12x 2.5" Gen4 NVMe/SATA/SAS hot-swappable bays are located on the front panel. A SAS card is required for SAS devices support.
Built for networking applications, the Gigabyte R163-P32 Server excels as a virtual server, hosting an Intranet, file access via VPN and use as a shared Internet connection. Featuring an ARM-based architecture, AmpereOne CPUs are focused on cloud service providers providing a 1:1 ratio of cores to threads, which is geared towards cloud-native workloads. On the other hand, x86 CPUs provide simultaneous multithreading (SMT), which result in better performance for multi-threaded applications. The 12-bay, 1U Gigabyte R163-P32 Server delivers 1 x 1Gb/s LAN port and a backplane supporting PCIe Gen4 x4, SATA 6Gb/s, or SAS 12Gb/s.
The system offers 2x riser cards for PCIe x16 (Gen5 x16) FHHL slots, plus 2x OCP 3.0 slots with a PCIe Gen5 bandwidth. In addition to these expansion slots, the motherboard holds a single M.2 PCIe Gen5 x4 slot for 2280 and 22110 form factor cards. The back of the chassis features 1+1 1300W 80 PLUS Platinum redundant power supplies and a single MLAN port to allow administrators to centrally manage all devices on the network. The Gigabyte Management Console is pre-installed and allows Administrators to manage a single system or a small cluster. As soon as the program becomes operational, administrators can use it to monitor and manage the health of each server in real time. For multi-server applications and large server clusters, Gigabyte offers the Gigabyte Server Manager.
