The Gigabyte R163-S35 Server supports a single 4th or 5th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processor or an Intel Xeon CPU Max Series processor, with a maximum thermal design power (TDP) of 350W. It features 8-channel memory architecture that can accommodate up to 4TB of memory with 256GB 3DS RDIMMs across all 16x DIMM slots, or up to 1TB using 96GB standard RDIMMs.
With 5th Generation CPUs, memory speeds can reach up to 5600 MT/s, while 4th Generation and Max Series CPUs support speeds up to 4800 MT/s. The Gigabyte R163-S35 Server’s, 1U chassis offers 12x front-mounted 2.5” drive bays compatible with Gen5 NVMe, SATA, or SAS4 configurations. SAS devices require an additional SAS HD controller card. To boot the operating system, the motherboard features a single M.2 slot with a PCIe Gen3 x4 interface for 2280/22110 cards. Additionally, administrators have access to 1x FHHL PCIe Gen5 x16 slot via a riser card and 1x OCP 3.0 Gen5 x16 slot accessible from the rear of the server.
Supported workloads for this system include Networking and use as a hybrid/private cloud server. Like all Gigabyte servers, the R163-S35 comes with the Gigabyte Management Console pre-installed, ideal for managing individual systems or small clusters. For larger deployments, Gigabyte provides the Gigabyte Server Management (GSM) tool, which enables real-time monitoring and management of server health through an intuitive, browser-based graphical interface.
