At 1U, the Gigabyte R164-S30 server supports a single Intel Xeon 6 series processor with a maximum TDP of 350W. It is compatible with various Intel Xeon 6 series processors including, the 6700 series with E-cores, the 6700 series with P-cores, and the 6500 series with P-cores. Built for networking and hybrid/private cloud applications, this machine features 4x drive bays that accommodate 3.5” or 2.5” Gen5 NVMe, SATA, or SAS4 drives.
The R164-S30 server features 2x M.2 slots (2280/22110) with a PCIe Gen5 x2 interface, however, one of them is shared with a SATA drive. The M.2 drives can be used to boot the system in a mirrored RAID. It is possible to install up to 16x DDR5 RDIMMs at up to 6400 MT/s or Multiplexor Combined Ranks (MCR) DIMMs at up to 8000 MT/s. Only Intel Xeon 6 Processors with P-cores and in a 1DPC configuration are compatible with MCR DIMMs. Two riser cards with 1x PCIe Gen5 x16 FHHL slot each can be deployed. There are also 2x PCIe Gen5 x16 OCP NIC 3.0 slots available.
Administrators can utilize Gigabyte Server Management (GSM) or the Gigabyte Management Console (GMC) to monitor the platform both locally or remotely. Using a regular browser, they offer information on an HTML 5 user interface for data on hard drives, inventories, power consumption, and can be configured to provide alerts.
