Part of Gigabyte’s rack server lineup, the 1U Gigabyte R182-Z93 server features dual AMD EPYC 7003 processors with the Rev. A00 upgrade. With dual processors, this system can support up to 8TB of memory, and features PCIe 4.0 for twice the throughput compared to PCIe 3.0. 10x 2.5-inch drive bays line the front of the chassis and support NVMe Gen4 U.2 hot-swappable drives.
Designed for use as a network server, the Gigabyte R182-Z93 rack server is an over achiever when addressing standard business workloads like virtualization, hosting an Intranet or for shared Internet connections. Outfitted with dual AMD EPYC processors, this system has 32x DDR4 memory module slots packed into a 1U chassis. 10x NVMe storage bays provide high resiliency storage options to support your business needs.
AMD EPYC 7003 series processors with thermal design point of up to 225W are supported with conditional support up to 280W. A 1600W power supply is required if using a 280W CPU with full loading configuration. That said, if an M.2 device is installed CPU TDP is limited to 225W. Each CPU supports up to 64 physical cores and 128 virtual threads for up to 128 physical cores and 256 virtual threads in a dual processor configuration. This CPU also features PCIe 4.0, which provides twice the throughput compared to PCIe 3.0 enabling quicker response times for I/O and storage options.
With 16x memory module slots per CPU, the Gigabyte R182-Z93 server supports 32 memory module slots on the system board for two memory modules per memory channel. Registered (RDIMM) and load-reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules are supported offering up to 4TB of potential memory at capacity. Memory speeds supported include 3200MHz and 2933MHz depending on your choice of modules and configuration.
In addition to the 10x 2.5-inch Gen4 U.2 hot-swappable SSD bays on the front of the system, there is a single M.2 PCIe x4 slot on the system board. The M.2 slot is located just behind the integrated dual 1Gb LAN ports at the back of the motherboard. SAS and SATA drives are not supported in the specifications but can be installed on other R182 family servers. The OCP 2.0 mezzanine card slot at the back of the chassis has been conscripted to provide support for the U.2 NVMe drives.
This system features two PCIe 4.0 x16 slots supported in two separate risers. There are two OCP mezzanine slots as well, however, the OCP 2.0 mezzanine card slot utilizing a PCIe 3.0 interface is not available as it supports and NVMe HBA with supported network communication services interface (NCSI) function. The other is an OCP 3.0 mezzanine slot with a PCIe Gen4 x16 connection supported by CPU_0. It too supports an NCSI function.
Gigabyte provides 2x proprietary management options, which are available free of charge. With IPMI 2.0 and Redfish compatibility. These software suites can easily integrate with other third-party hardware. The Gigabyte Management Console supports a single chassis or small clusters of servers, while the Gigabyte Server Management, or GSM, can be used to manage large clusters of servers simultaneously over the Internet.
Outfitted with dual AMD EPYC series 7003 processors the Gigabyte R182-Z93 server provides up to 4TB of memory plus fast and resilient storage up front with 10x NVMe Gen4 U.2 storage bays up front. This server is designed for standard networking applications, and at only 1U can easily fit in with your existing network.
