There are 2x riser cards on the motherboard, each with a FHHL PCIe Gen5 x16 slot. For more networking options, the system features 2x OCP NIC 3.0 Gen5 x16 slots. The system also offers a virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) header for support of SSD RAID. A storage controller is required for SAS storage devices. This machine is powered by dual 1600W 80 PLUS Platinum redundant power supplies. Built for networking and hybrid/private cloud server applications, the Gigabyte R183-S96 supports and 8-channel memory architecture for 32x DDR5 memory module slots. Depending on the processor installed, memory modules, and memory configuration, memory speeds range from 4400 MT/s to 5600 MT/s.

With a browser-accessible HTML5 interface, Gigabyte Management Console (GMC) and Gigabyte Server Management (GSM) offer streamlined access to the server’s management functions. The Gigabyte Management Console comes preinstalled, while GSM is available as a download. These tools support both local and remote administration, enabling real-time monitoring of system health metrics such as component inventory, power consumption, and storage status. Administrators can also configure alerts to proactively respond to potential hardware or operational issues, enhancing system reliability and uptime.
