The dual socket, 12-bay Gigabyte R183-SF1 server is powered by 4th or 5th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, including the Intel Xeon CPU Max Series. An 8-channel memory architecture on each CPU supports 32x DDR5 memory module slots with up to 8TB of memory when all slots are populated with 256GB 3DS RDIMMs. Using standard RDIMMs, the system will support a maximum of 3TB of RAM. Additionally, the 1U system supports 1x PCIe Gen5 x16 dual slot for an AMD, NVIDIA, XILINX, or Qualcomm GPU card.
This platform supports AI, AI Training, AI Inference, Visual Computing, and a number of other High-Performance Computing (HPC) applications. Supported processors deliver up to 64 cores each with a TDP of up to 225W at ambient 30°C, but a maximum TDP of 350W can also be supported under limited thermal conditions. In addition to the expansion slot for the single graphics card, the 1U Gigabyte R183-SF1 server offers 1 x FHFL PCIe Gen5 x16 slot and 1 x FHHL PCIe Gen5 x16 slot, plus 1 x OCP 3.0 Gen5 x16 slot. The back of the chassis also features 1x dedicated management port and a mini display port.
Dual 2000W 80 PLUS Titanium redundant power supplies can also be found on the back of the machine. On the front panel there are 12 x 2.5" Gen5 NVMe/SATA/SAS4 hot-swappable bays, but a SAS card is required to support SAS devices. A single server or a small cluster can be managed and maintained using the GIGABYTE Management Console, which comes pre-installed on all servers.
