At 1U, the Gigabyte R183-ZK0 Server supports networking and use as a hybrid/private cloud server with compute provided by AMD EPYC 9005- or 9004-series processors. 4x hybrid bays up front support NVMe, SAS, and SATA drive types. With 48x DIMM slots, it offers a significant memory footprint supported by 12x memory channel architecture provided by AMD’s EPYC CPUs.
The Thermal Design Power (TDP) ratings of the CPUs supported on the Gigabyte R183-ZK0 Server include those with a TDP of up to 500W. This includes top-of-the line CPUs from the 9005-series CPUs with up to 192 physical cores and 384 virtual threads. 48x memory module slots are split between the two processors for 2x DIMMs per channel when memory modules are loaded in all memory module slots. In addition to the upfront storage, the system has 2x PCIe Gen3 x 4 slots on the system board for support of M.2 drives that can be used for additional storage or to boot the system. With 2x M.2 drives installed, they can be linked in a mirror RAID for resiliency.

There is also a single full-height, half-length PCIe Gen 5 slot for expansion options. 2x OCP3.0 slots offering a PCIe gen5 x16 interface provide even more opportunities for network communications. There are also 2x GbE ports on the back of the system centered between 2x 2700W 80 PLUS Platinum redundant power supply units (PSUs).
For remote management of the platform Gigabyte provides two utilities. The Gigabyte Management Console comes pre-loaded on the system and enables monitoring and management of a single server or a small cluster of servers. Ther Gigabyte Server Management (GSM) utility provides management of multiple server clusters in real-time and is available for download.
