With 32x memory module slots the Gigabyte R184-S90 Server can accommodate DDR5 memory. it suitable for networking applications and a hybrid/private cloud system. The system supports dual Intel Xeon 6 6700 series processors either E-cores or P-cores, and the 6500 series processors with P cores. Either RDIMMs or Multiplexor Combined Rank DIMMs or MCR DIMMs can be used. The latter are only supported with Intel Xeon 6 CPUs with P-cores in a 1DPC configuration. Installing a single CPU may prevent access to memory or PCIe functionality.
Four 3.5” Gen5 NVMe/SATA/SAS4 hot-swap drive bays line the front of the Gigabyte R184-S90. A storage card is required to support SATA and SAS drives. For Gen5 NVMe SSD drives, a Virtual RAID on CPU or VROC key can be used. Offering more storage, or to boot the operating system, the server supports a total of 3x M.2 slots on the motherboard. It offers 2x M.2 PCIe Gen5 x4 slots for 2280 or 22110 form factor cards and 1x M.2 PCIe Gen5 x2 for 2280 cards. This system is powered by 1+1 redundant 1600W 80 PLUS Titanium power supplies.
Users can access 2x FHHL PCIe Gen5 x16 slots through the rear of the chassis, as well as 2 x OCP NIC 3.0 PCIe Gen5 x16 slots. The system also has two 1Gb/s LAN ports and a dedicated management port. To manage the system, Gigabyte offers two management tools. The Gigabyte Management Console is preinstalled and can control one server or a small group of servers, whereas the Gigabyte Server Management (GSM) suite, available through download, can manage a large cluster of servers simultaneously. Both offer remote management of the system.
