Depending on the revision, a single AMD EPYC 7001, 7002, or 7003 series 7nm processor will provide compute in the 2U Gigabyte R262-ZA1 server. There are 12x 3.5" SATA/SAS hot-swappable HDD/SSD bays on the front panel and an additional 2x 2.5” SATA/SAS hot-swappable drive bays on the rear. The motherboard supports 16x DIMM DDR4 slots with an 8-channel memory architecture featuring up to 4TB of RAM with 256GB 3DS RDIMMs or 3DS LRDIMMs. As an option, the operating system can boot from an extra M.2 slot with a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface.
An Aspeed AST2500 remote management controller can be used to regulate and manage the AMD EPYC-based system, which is powered by dual redundant 1200W 80 PLUS Platinum power sources. In addition to 1x OCP 2.0 Gen3 x8 mezzanine slot and 1x OCP 3.0 Gen4 x16 mezzanine slot, the chassis offers 6x FHHL PCIe Gen4 x16 and x8 slots, 1x FHHL PCIe Gen3 x16 or x8 slot, and 2x low-profile PCIe Gen4 x8 slots. There are two versions of the R262-ZA1 server, each with a different AMD EPYC series processor and memory configuration.
