The 2U, single-socket Gigabyte R263-SG0 server supports Intel Xeon Scalable processors from the 4th or 5th generation with up to 64 cores and a maximum TDP of 350W, plus Intel Xeon CPU Max Series with up to 56 cores. Featuring 8x memory channel architecture, the system has a total of 16x DDR5 DIMM slots. At full capacity those slots can provide up to 4TB of memory when 256GB 3DS RDIMMs are installed, as opposed to only 1TB of RAM when 96GB RDIMMs populated the slots. Depending on the type of CPU installed and configuration, memory speeds vary. 5th Gen supports up to 5600MT/s, 4th Gen supports 4800MT/s, and the Max series supports up to 4800MT/s.
The front panel offers 12x 3.5" SATA/SAS4 hot-swappable drive bays compatible with 2.5" drive form factors. Meanwhile, the motherboard supports 1x M.2 slot with PCIe Gen3 x4 interface for a 2280 or 22110 card. Up to 4x FHFL PCIe Gen5 x16 slots are available, which can be outfitted with up to 4x dual slot GPUs from NVIDIA, AMD, Qualcomm, or XILINX. Additionally, the Gigabyte R263-SG0 supports 1x OCP 3.0 Gen5 x16 slot for optional network communications, which can be accessed through the rear of the system. Dual 2700W 80 PLUS Titanium power supplies offer 1+1 redundancy.
The Aspeed AST2600 baseboard management controller (BMC), which provides for remote access of the system, is accessed through the integrated RJ45 management LAN port (mLAN). The AST2600 BMC works in conjunction with the Gigabyte Management Console, which uses an AMI MegaRAC SP-X web interface, enabling administrators to monitor and manage the system. For more management functions and a one-to-many software suite there’s Gigabyte Server Management or GSM.
