The Gigabyte R264-S30 Server is built for networking applications such as file storage, file access via VPN, and hosting an intranet. At the heart of the system is a single Intel Xeon 6 processor from the 6700E-series, 6700P-series, and the 6500P-series. This CPU is limited to a TDP of up to 350W and with an 8-channel memory architecture 2x DIMMS per channel with 16x DIMM slots. Multiplexer Combined Ranks DIMMs (MCR DIMMs) are supported with memory speeds of up to 8000 MT/s, as well as Register DDR5 DIMMs running at speeds up to 6400 MT/s (1DPC) or 5200 MT/s (2DPC). MCR DIMMs are only supported when Intel CPUs with P-cores are installed and in a 1DPC configuration.
On the front of the 2U Gigabyte R264-S30 there are 12x 3.5-inch drive bays that can be configured with either 3.5” or 2.5” Gen5 NVMe, SATA, or SAS4 drive types. SAS drives require a SAS card and will operate with a data transfer rate of up to 24Gb/s. Intel Virtual RAID on CPU or VROC is also supported for limited RAID. There are 2x PCIe Gen5 x2 slots on the motherboard for 2280 and 22110 form factor M.2 drives but one of them is shared with a SATA bus. The system offers 1x OCP 3.0 Gen5 x16 slot and a single riser card with 1x FHHL PCIe Gen5 x16 slot.
Powering the machine, are dual redundant 1600W 80 Plus Titanium power supplies on the rear of the chassis. The R264-S30 comes with the Gigabyte Management Console pre-installed, making it ideal for managing individual systems or small clusters. For larger deployments, Gigabyte provides the Gigabyte Server Management (GSM) tool, which enables real-time monitoring and management of server health through an intuitive, web-based interface.
