Under the hood, the system supports a single AMD EPYC 9004 series processor or can be outfitted with the AMD 3D V-Cache technology alternative. AMD’s 4th generation CPUs are based on a 5nm technology, have up to 128 cores, and the system has a configurable TDP of up to 300W with options for up to 400W under limited thermal conditions. 12-channel memory architecture and 24x DDR5 memory module slots enable 12x DIMMs per channel for up to 6TB of memory. The 38-bay Gigabyte S453-Z30 storage server can be outfitted with SATA/SAS configurations for scale out capacity.
Designed for storage and networking applications, the S453-Z30 storage server is equipped with 4x low-profile PCIe Gen5 x16 slots, 1x M.2 slot with a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface, and a SAS expander with 12Gb/s transfer speeds. The system is highly flexible to be of use in any industry with storage needs. There are 24x 3.5" SATA/SAS hot-swappable bays on the front panel with an extra 12x 3.5" SATA/SAS hot-swappable bays on the rear. Two more 2.5" SATA/SAS bays adjacent to the PSUs can be deployed as boot drives. An additional SAS card is required for SAS support. Each set of drive bays have a different backplane and can accommodate 3.5” or 2.5” drives. Each slot can be loaded with up to 256GB 3DS RDIMMs for a total of up to 6TB of RAM. Half of this amount is available with 128GB RDIMMs. 2x 10Gb/s LAN ports provide an integrated network connection, along with a dedicated management port. The system is powered by dual 1600W 80PLUS Titanium PSUs.
