Part of Gigabytes X-series line of servers, the Gigabyte XV23-ZX0-AAJ1 Server is designed for AI, AI training and inference, plus visual computing and high-performance computing applications. It supports dual AMD EPYC 9005 or 9004-series processors with a TDP of up to 400W or up to 500W under certain conditions. This is a single root system with all GPUs routed through CPU0 and the other PCIe slots for additional expansion handled by CPU1.
With 5th generation AMD EPYC CPUs installed, the Gigabyte XV23-ZX0-AAJ1 Server can deliver up to 384 physical cores and up to 768 virtual threads in a dual processor configuration using top of the line CPUs. Each processor has 12 channel memory architecture with 12x memory module slots assigned per processor for 24x memory module slots, total. Only DDR5 Registered DIMMs are supported and will provide data transfer rates of up to 6000MT/s using 5th Gen 9005-series CPUs or up 4800MT/s using 4th Gen 9004-series CPUs. 6x 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays on the front support NVME Gen5/SATA/SAS-4 drive formats.
Specifically, there are 4x full-height, full-length PCIe Gen5 x16 slots for GPU support plus 3x more full-height, full-length PCIe Gen5 x16 slots. This system is an optimized NVIDIA OVX L40S server developed for AI workloads in the data center and Omniverse applications with incredibly detailed digital twin creation producing accurate simulations in real-time. 3x M.2 drives on the motherboard can be used for additional storage or to support the operating system or hypervisor in a mirror RAID for redundancy. In back, there is a dedicated management LAN port, 2x integrated 10Gb/s LAN ports for basic network communications and 2 USB ports. Additional NICs can be installed in the 3x PCIe slots not earmarked for GPUs. The system has 4x 2000W 80PLUS Titanium PSUs up front along with an I/O panel featuring USB ports and LED tell-tale lights.
Management of the system is through the Gigabyte Management Console, which is pre-loaded and can be used with a single server or small cluster. The Gigabyte Server Manager or GSM can help manage clusters of servers over the Internet simultaneously and offers a number of other management utilities. GSM Mobile is suitable for either iOS or Android operating systems providing Administrators with real-time updates. For use with VMware the GSM Plugin connects users with VMware vCenter.
