There are 4x configuration options available for the 90-bay Infortrend EonStor GS 3090 Gen3 storage appliance. A standard version with SAS/SATA HDDs, or a high-performance option with U.2 NVMe storage devices. Both options have single or dual controllers. 2- or 4-core Intel Xeon D processors are supported by the controller, dependent on the performance level. 16GB to 192GB of DDR4 cache memory is available with a single controller or 32GB to 384GB DDR4 with dual controllers. The 4U system has 90x 3.5" drive bays, plus up to 4x additional drives for 94x total.
The performance option with U.2 NVMe SSDs comes in 2x variants depending on the number of controllers, the EonStor GS 3090RT3C and EonStor GS 3090ST3C. The standard version supporting SAS or SATA HDDs also comes in 2x variants. A total of 94x drive bays are supported by these versions, with an additional 4x drive bays packed together toward the rear of the system. All drive bays can be outfitted with 2.5” drive form factors. Via JBOD expansion enclosures per appliance, up to 896 drives can be supported. Via Scale-out with other series of appliances per cluster up to 3584 drives can be made available. The EonStor GS 3090 Gen3 storage can support NAS, SAN, cloud gateway, and object protocol. Each controller features 2x onboard 25GbE ports (SFP28), 1x super capacitor, 2x 12Gb/s SAS ports, and 2x host board slots for optional I/O support. The flash module ensures data integrity in case of an electrical blackout.
The system can be managed via Infortrend's EonOne software package, and it is compatible with Windows Server, OpenStack Cinder, Citrix XenServer, and macOS X. It offers automatic storage balancing and an intuitive user interface for managing and allocating resources. Notifications can be sent via email or the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) if a component malfunctions. Two redundant 1600W 80 PLUS Titanium power supply units provide power to the system.
