Housed in a 4U chassis, the Infortrend EonStor GS 4060 Gen3 Storage appliance features either a single or dual redundant controllers. This system has four different configurations, which include the GS 4060S3 with a single controller, the GS 4060S3C with a single controller and U.2 SSD cache, the GS 4060R3 with dual redundant controllers, and the GS 4060R3C with dual redundant controllers and U.2 SSD cache. The single controller options can be upgraded to a dual controller version in a simple process. Each controller holds an Intel Xeon D 6-core processor with a default cache memory capacity from 12GB to 192GB.
The Infortrend GS 4060 Storage device houses 60x 3.5-inch drive bays which are compatible with both 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch SATA HDDs and SSDs. Some configurations are also compatible with U.2 NVMe SSDs as well. Up to 896x drives are supported via expansion enclosures and up to 3584x drives are available per cluster via scale-out with up to 4 GS units. A super capacitor with flash backup provides for cache backup in the event of a power failure, with cache memory provided by the controller. On the rear of each controller, there are dual SAS expansion ports along with a dedicated management port and 2x host board slots for optional NICs. The optional host boards support SFP+, RJ-45 ports, Fiber Channel (FC), and SAS options granting varying speeds and port options based on your business needs. Four different platforms are available.
Designed for demanding SAN and NAS environments, the Infortrend GS 4060 Gen3 offers high-performance reads of up to 16GB/s and writes of 12GB/s. Upgrading the single controller platforms to a dual redundant controller configuration is easily accomplished with the additional of a second controller module. SAS, SATA, and U.2 NVMe drives are supported. Daisy-chaining this appliance with other JBOD enclosures dramatically increases capacity to up to 896x drive bays. To keep your data secure, this platform is compatible with a full range of RAID options. System management is achieved by Infortrend’s web-based management software EonOne, which can help manage, assign resources, and automate common administrative tasks. Hot-swap dual, redundant 1200W 80 Plus Platinum power supplies power this system and require 200-240VAC.
