There are 3x different model types for the Infortrend KS 5000U series of appliances depending on your business needs. All platforms are dual-socket with a 2U form factor. As mentioned, the Infortrend KSi 5024U Cloud Compute Node is for storage-intensive applications offering high-speed storage with a large capacity. At the other end of the family is the KS 5008U, which is available with either 9004-series AMD EPYC CPUs (KSa 5008U) or 4th gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors (KSi 5008U). The KS 5000U is a GPU-intensive platform with support for up to 4x high-performance GPUs and is well-suited to AI, AI training, 3D rendering and generative AI. For General Purpose applications, there’s the KS 5016U also with GPU support for up to 2x high-performance GPUs for chatbots, AI services, and deep learning applications.

The system supports from 192GB by default or up to 2TB of DDR5 memory at maximum. For expansion it offers 2x FHHL PCIe 5.0 x16 slots and 2x PCIe 5.0 OCP mezzanine card slots. Up to 20 nodes can be assembled to create a cluster. The system is compatible with several of Infortrends other models from EonStor GS, CS, and GSx solutions.

Infortrend provides comprehensive management of the hardware and software using EonOne for hardware and EonKube for software management. Both offer an intuitive, easy-to-use graphical interface for distributing system resources and with a built-in Application Marketplace common industry specific applications are easily installed with one-click deployment and rolling updates. The appliances can be used with replication (x2 or x3 Replicate) or without depending on your business needs. The system also features dynamic scaling of applications depending on real-time usage conditions.
