The compact ThinkEdge SE100 Edge Server is ideal for retail and manufacturing workloads such as machine learning, augmented reality, smart surveillance, and more. Despite its size, this rugged 1U system can handle temperatures from 5 to 45°C as well as tolerance to locations with high dust and vibration. Using 2x memory module slots, the system supports up to 64GB of memory when using 32GB DDR5 Clocked Small Outline DIMMs (CSODIMM) running at 6400 MHz, meanwhile SODIMMs run at 5600 MHz. CSODIMMs are designed for space constrained systems and incorporate a clock driver on the module for improved signal integrity, stability, and memory speed.
The ThinkEdge SE100 Server does not support drive bays, but it accommodates storage options by offering 1x M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 boot drive for 2280 SATA/NVMe SSDs for the operating system and 2x data drives (2280 or 22110 NVMe SSD) for applications, allowing the convenience of separating application code from data. In addition, the system provides 1x PCIe x16 slot for a single-wide, low-profile GPU which can be accessed using an expansion kit. GPUs such as the NVIDIA Quadro RTX A1000 or NVIDIA Quadro RTX 2000E can be installed.
The server includes an XClarity Controller 2 (XCC2) for monitoring system availability. An optional upgrade to XCC Platinum enables advanced capabilities, including remote keyboard-video-mouse (KVM) control, remote media mounting, FIPS 140-3 security compliance, enhanced support for NIST SP 800-193, boot capture, power capping, and a range of additional management and security enhancements. It also incorporates technology to automatically encrypt the data if the system is tampered with. The following are power supply options for the ThinkEdge SE100:
