The Lenovo ThinkSystem SD520 V4 Server is a half-width node that can be installed in the 2U ThinkSystem D3 V2 chassis. 1x to 4x server nodes outfitted with a single Intel Xeon 6 6700-series processor featuring E-cores can be installed in the2U D3 V2 chassis. These CPUs feature a TDP up to 350W and up to 144 cores, for a total of up to 576 cores per 2U chassis. Each node has 8x TruDDR5 5600 MHz RDIMM slots and support 1x 75W GPU.
This machine is tailored for high-volume transactional data that demands speed, perfect for web transactions, online banking, CSPs, Telco, and HPC workloads needing high core density to process multiple data streams simultaneously. With highly configurable storage options, the ThinkSystem SD520 V4 offers 6x hot-swap 2.5” NVMe/SAS/SATA drives or 2x E3.S 1TB NVMe drives per node. 2x M.2 slots on the system board are used to boot the OS. For networking, the server is equipped with 1x PCIe Gen5 x16 HHHL and 1x OCP 3.0 slot. Its Neptune liquid cooling technology boosts energy efficiency by up to 40%, optimizing performance for large-scale CSP and HPC environments and minimizing cooling costs. The chassis supports up to 3x power supply units, each with a maximum output of 2700W.
The Lenovo SD520 V4 is supported by an advanced hybrid cloud-based Management-as-a-Service (MaaS) utility, featuring three predictive failure analytics engines. These engines significantly minimize system downtime by enhancing accuracy and swiftly identifying potential faults. Administrators can also track server availability through the XClarity Controller 3 (XCC3). For additional capabilities such as remote media file access (ISO and IMG), boot capture, power capping, and full remote control (keyboard, video, and mouse), an optional upgrade to XCC Platinum is available.
