Up to 4x Lenovo ThinkSystem SD530 V3 Node Servers can be installed in a 2U ThinkSystem D3 chassis. Each 1U, half-width blade is a dual-socket system supporting 5th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. When configured with a single CPU, the system supports up to 64 cores and a TDP up to 350W. In contrast, with a dual-CPU configurations each node supports CPUs with a TDP up to 205W and 32x cores each. Each node supports up to 1TB of memory across 16x TruDDR5 DIMM slots, with speeds up to 5600 MHz.
Designed for versatility and performance, the modular SD530 V3 is well suited for cloud computing, analytics, AI, and high-performance computing applications like Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) or Electronic Design Automation (EDA). Each ThinkSystem SD530 V3 Node features 2x E3.S EDSFF 1TB hot-swap drives supported by a PCIe 5.0 x4 NVMe interface. In addition, there are 2x onboard slots supporting M.2 NVMe drives (x1 host interface) or SATA drives (6Gbps host interface).
For graphics support, the platform accommodates 1x single-wide 75W GPU, such as the Intel Flex 140 12GB Gen4 Passive cooling GPU or an NVIDIA L4 24GB PCIe Gen4 Passive cooling GPU. A single PCIe 5.0 x16 slot with a low-profile form factor is available for additional expansion options. At the rear of the node, there is a dedicated OCP 3.0 SFF slot with a PCIe 5.0 x16 host interface supporting a range of 2-port and 4-port adapters with 1, 10, 25 or 100 GbE connectivity. As an option, one network port can be shared with the XClarity Controller 2 (XCC2) for Wake-on-LAN and Network Controller Sideband Interface (NC-SI) integrations.
Each system is cooled by 4x 40mm simple-swap, dual-rotor fans with N+1 rotor-redundancy. The nodes share 3x hot-swap power supplies, each delivering up to 2700W. For management and maintenance, the server includes a MicroSD card slot used by the XClarity Controller (XCC), which functions as a Remote Disk on Card (RDOC) or to store firmware updates. The XClarity Mobile app offers a tethering feature allowing users to connect an Android or iOS device via USB to monitor the system. Additionally, the Lenovo SD530 V3 provides a port for an External Diagnostics Handset, which displays system status, firmware, network, and health information on an LCD display for quick access.
