Built on an 8nm process, the GeForce RTX 3070 GPU is based on the GA104 graphics processor, which supports DirectX 12 Ultimate capabilities to support video games in hardware raytracing, variable-rate shading and more. As a solid 1440p card, and only an entry-level 4K card, the RTX 3070 sits just below the RTX 3080 in most areas, featuring less tensor cores, CUDA cores, and memory. The RTX 3070 GPU supports 5888 CUDA cores, 184 tensor cores, 96 ROPs, and 46 raytracing acceleration cores.

Memory

The 3070 GPU features 8GB of GDDR6 memory, unlike the 3080 and 3090 cards which use GDDR6X RAM. Although the dual-slot card is much shorter than those GPUs to fit into smaller cases, it’s connected using a 256-bit memory interface running at 1750 MHz or 14 Gbps.

Drawing up to 220W, the NVIDIA RTX 3070 GPU needs at least a 550W power supply. Just like the RTX 3080, this card uses NVIDIA’s new 12-pin single power connector instead of the 6 or 8-pin connectors. But unlike its bigger siblings, the small dual-slot RTX 3070 graphics card has a twin fan system on the same side as the cooler. In addition, the back panel of the card features a single HDMI 2.1 and 3x DisplayPort 1.4a ports.
