Powered by NVIDIA’s "Ada Lovelace" graphics architecture, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU offers several high-performance technologies to tackle today’s artistic workloads, not to mention immersive, AI-accelerated gaming. This GPU is built on a 5nm process, based on the AD107 graphics processor. It also supports DirectX 12 Ultimate, which guarantees support for hardware-raytracing, variable-rate shading and more, in upcoming video games. It is equipped with 3rd generation RT Cores and 4th generation Tensor Cores, as well as GDDR6 RAM.
Operating on NVIDIA’s Lovelace architecture, the RTX 4060 supports up to 3072 CUDA cores, 96 texture mapping units, 48 ROPs, and 24 ray tracing acceleration cores. The RTX 4060 falls just short of the RTX 4070 in most respects because it is only an entry-level 1440p card and has fewer tensor cores, CUDA cores, and RAM. Up to 4x screens can be supported considering the device includes an HDMI port and 3 DisplayPort connections. Those 3rd gen RT cores provide double the raytracing performance with 4th generation Tensor cores supported by Deep-Learning Super Sampling 3.0 (DLSS) delivering 4x the performance with versus brute force rendering enabling realistic and immersive graphics. Total power draw on this card is listed at 115W and requires system power of up to 550W.
The GeForce RTX 4060 and 8GB GDDR6 RAM are linked together through a 128-bit memory interface. Memory operates at 2125 MHz (17 Gbps effective), while the GPU operates at 1830 MHz with a boost to 2460 MHz. NVIDIA's NVLink is not supported by this graphics card.
The 2-slot RTX 4060 has the newest architecture for cooling the engine. In order to disperse the heat, the GPU features two fans, one on each side. The fan on the back takes air through the card and vents it towards the top and rear chassis vents, while the fan on the front pushes hot air out through the tiny vents. Support for a 12-pin power connector featuring a power draw at 115W TDP is also available.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU supports 3072 CUDA cores under the hood, including a 5nm manufacturing process with 18900 million transistors. This VR-ready graphics card makes it easier to game, stream, and create while experiencing immersive, AI-accelerated gaming utilizing 96 texture mapping units, 48 ROPs, and 24 RT cores. It can support up to 4x monitors at 4K using the integrated HDMI port and 3x DisplayPort 1.4a ports. Resolution of monitors will affect how many 4K resolution displays are supported.
