Built for storage expansion, supporting efficient growth, performance, and high capacity, the Seagate Exos E 4U106 storage enclosure is Seagate’s largest modular systems building block. It features toolless drive carriers that allow administrators to snap drives into the 106 bays in seconds with the ability to daisy-chain up to 4x EBOD chassis together. Essentially, each controller module is a server node. This allows the enclosure to be split into 2 nodes using zoning with each supporting up to 53 drives, either 3.5” or 2.5”. Up to 1.9PB of storage can be accessed using 18TB 3.5” SAS drives.
With an overall maximum bandwidth of 36GB/s, you can access mission-critical and archival data with lightning speed. While cutting-edge drive placement improves airflow and lowers power consumption, special performance, efficiency, and scalability characteristics enable an incredibly low TCO. Due to its modular design, the Exos E 4U106 enclosure excels in dependability, simplicity of installation, maintenance, and extension thanks to hot-swappable expanders, dual data routes, redundant I/O modules, fans, and power supply, among other features. This enclosure is appropriate for demanding data retention needs that are predicted to increase in the years to come. There are four x4 12Gb/s mini-SAS HD connectors per I/O module, dual redundant 2000W 80 PLUS Platinum or Titanium PSUs, and 2x 1GbE ports to manage the system.
