The Seagate Exos E 5U84 storage enclosure features 84x 3.5-inch drive bays. With 4x enclosures daisy-chained together, up to 336 drives are supported. These drives are designed to work and perform consistently in enterprise-class applications and workloads. The storage enclosure features two controllers with a SAS3 interface and a throughput of up to 14.4GB/s with just one controller, and double the amount with two controllers. Up to 1.5PB of data can be stored using 18TB 3.5” SAS drives in all bays.
Ideal for edge storage, backup and recovery, multi cloud, private cloud, and big data analytics, the Exos E 5U84 storage enclosure can handle extreme data growth. Each I/O module can accommodate up to three x4 12Gb/s mini-SAS HD ports. The extended bunch of disks (EBOD) capabilities of this system make it easy for users to add more storage as needed. On the back of the chassis, where you can also find the dual redundant 2200W 80 PLUS Platinum or Titanium PSUs to power the system, is the administration interface, which supports 2x 1GbE ports.
