The Supermicro A+ Server 2024US-TNR is a dual socket server compatible with 7003 Milan or 7002 Rome AMD EPYC processors. With up to 8TB of memory when all 32x DDR4 memory module slots are populated, this system is designed for high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, and deep learning functions.
Offering 12x flexible NVMe, SAS, or SATA drive bay configurations, the 2U Supermicro A+ Server 2024US-TNR supports dual AMD EPYC series CPUs from the second or third generations. The system board features 32x DIMM slots, for up to 8TB of memory. This enterprise-focused platform is designed to provide the utmost performance, energy efficiency, and flexibility to power through demanding applications including database, virtualization, and cloud computing. * This product is only offered as a fully completed system with a minimum of 2x CPUs, 4x DIMMs, and 1x HDD/NVMe. For optimal performance, 16x DIMMs are recommended.
Based on the H12DSU-iN motherboard, the Supermicro Server 2024US-TNR is designed to support any processor in the 3rd Gen AMD EPYC processor product line, including the AMD EPYC 7003 Series Processor with AMD 3D V-Cache Technology. AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology provides 768 MB of L3 cache per processor for better performance across a range of technical workloads. This server is also compatible with AMD’s 7002 series CPUs. On this platform AMD EPYC processors with a thermal design power (TDP) 280W are supported but may require additional hardware. In order to achieve extremely low storage latency, the CPU's 128 lanes of PCIe 4.0 bandwidth enable direct connectivity between the CPU and U.2 NVMe drives without any intermediate switching.
Outfitted with dual AMD EPYC CPUs, the Server 2024US-TNR supports 16x DIMM slots per processor for a total of 32x active DIMM slots on the system board. A fully configured system can offer up to 8TB of 3DS Registered (RDIMM) ECC DDR4 3200MHz memory.
At 2U, the 2024US-TNR server has a direct-attached backplane supporting 12x hot-swap 3.5” SATA3 drives by default. Users also have the option of installing 8x SATA3 drives plus 4x NVMe drives via an optional kit. Similarly, 12x SAS3 drive bays can be connected via an optional SAS kit, which includes a discrete SAS controller. There are two SATA DOM connectors on the motherboard, plus the system also supports an M.2 SSD via an optional PCIe carrier card.
A total of 6x PCIe slots can be accessed at the rear of the chassis. The server features 1x PCIe 4.0 x16 full-height 10.5" slot, 1x PCIe 4.0 x16 full-height 9.5" slot and 1x PCIe 4.0 x16 low-profile slot. An Ultra Riser Card must be bundled in order to enable the following slots: 1x PCIe 4.0 x16 full-height 10.5" slot, 1x PCIe 4.0 x8 full-height 9.5", and 1x PCIe 4.0 x8 (internal proprietary LP in x16) slot. Both CPUs need to be installed for full access to PCIe slots and onboard controllers.
Supermicro’s in-suite software provides access to the server both at-chassis and remotely. Programs like SuperDoctor5, SSM, SPM, SUM, Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI 2.0) plus KVM with dedicated LAN, and Redfish API can be used to monitor and control the system. These programs are web-based and can provide real-time monitoring and alerts in case the hardware fails. An Out of Ban License key (SFT-OOB-LIC) is included with the system for OOB BIOS management of the system. Additional management utilities include Supermicro SuperCloud Composer with open-source Redfish compatibility.
The Supermicro A+ Server 2024US-TNR provides flexibility, scalability, and serviceability for demanding IT settings and to power mission-critical enterprise applications. This system supports dual CPU sockets for AMD EPYC 3rd or 2nd Generation series CPUs, including those with AMD 3D V-Cache Technology. The 4U platform is designed to deliver 8TB of memory with 32x DIMM slots, plus 12x hot-swap 3.5” drive bays with the option of SATA, SAS, or NVMe configurations.
