The Supermicro A+ Server 2114GT-DNR is a single socket system compatible with 7003 MILAN or 7002 ROME AMD EPYC Processors. The system is built to house two nodes in a chassis enclosure with each node outfitted with a CPU socket, 8x DIMM slots, and support for up 3x double-width or 6x single-width GPUs. The capabilities of this system include Media/Video Streaming, AI Inference and Machine Learning, Cloud Gaming, and Industrial Automation.
Dual nodes provide two systems in a single 2U enclosure, which are stacked on top of each other. Each node houses a single socket compatible with AMD EPYC 7003 MILAN or 7002 ROME Processors. A total of 8x DIMM slots can be found per node along with 2x hot-swappable 2.5-inch U.2 NVMe Gen4 drive bays. A fully configured system can house either 6x double-wide or 12x single-wide GPUs with both server nodes fully outfitted. This high-performance system is powered by dual 2600W redundant PSUs with power management (PM) bus for management of power subsystems.
Depending on the chosen processor, each AMD EPYC 7003 or 7002 Series Processor can provide up to 64x Physical Cores and 128x Virtual Threads. Potentially, the Supermicro A+ 2114GT-DNR can hold a total of 128x Physical Cores and 256x Virtual Threads with both nodes installed. The system architecture supports a CPU Thermal Design Point of 280W, which support CPUs with available core options between 8 and 64. CPUs with a high TDP may require specialized system optimizations.
A total of 4x 2.5-inch U.2 NVMe drives can be found on the front of the Supermicro A+ 2114GT-DNR Server. 2x of the drive bays are controlled by each of the server nodes. In addition, each node also supports two M.2 NVMe drives that can be used for additional cache or as redundant boot drives.
Each server node in the Supermicro Server 2114GT-DNR houses 8x DIMM slots on the system board. Registered (RDIMM), Load-Reduced (LRDIMM) and 3DS versions of each are supported. A fully configured system can hold up to 4TB 3DS ECC DDR4 3200MHz SDRAM with both nodes at capacity.
There are a total of 6x PCIe Gen4 x16 slots on the system board. These slots support either 3x double-wide GPUs or 6x single-wide GPUs but can also be outfitted with Broadband I/O cards for superfast networking. There is also an additional single PCIe Gen4 x8 AIOM (Advanced I/O module) networking slot in each server node to provide flexible networking options with Supermicro networking modules or OCP 3.0 modules.
Supermicro provides in-suite management options for the Supermicro 2114GT-DNR. These options include the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0, KVM with dedicated LAN, SSM, SPM, SUM, SuperDoctor 5, and Watchdog. The Aspeed AST2600 Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) provides access to the system either on site or remotely.
The Supermicro A+ Server 2114GT-DNR is a 2U rack-mountable system for edge networks a data centers that houses 2 separate server nodes in its chassis. This system is ideal for Cloud Gaming, AI Inference and Machine Learning, and Media/Video Streaming. Each node houses a single CPU socket which is compatible with either a 3rd or 2nd Generation AMD EPYC Series Processors. The single-socket supports 8x DIMM slots compatible with DDR4 memory modules. The front of the system features 4x U.2 NVMe drive bays, and there are two NVMe M.2 drive slots in each server node. A total of 6 double-wide or 12 single-wide GPU accelerators are supported on the system with both nodes installed.
