The Supermicro A+ Server 2124GQ-NART is a dual socket system compatible with 2nd or 3rd Generation AMD EPYC Series Processors. With support for up to 4x SXM2 form factor GPUs, this system is designed for graphic intensive workloads, AI and Machine Learning, and High-Performance computing, among other heavy workloads. Each socket supports 16x DIMM slots, for a total of 32x DIMM slots on the system board.
With dual 2nd or 3rd generation AMD EPYC series processors supported on the Supermicro A+ Server 2124GQ-NART this system offers performance to support a number high-performance workloads and for use with autonomous automobiles and research simulation. There are a total of 32x DIMM slots divided evenly between the two CPU sockets, plus up to 4x 2.5-inch hybrid drive bays. The GPU configuration on this system holds 4x NVIDIA A100 SXM4 configuration linked together via NVIDIA NVLink.
*This system is only sold as a completely assembled system with a minimum of 2x CPUs, 512GB of memory is required for 80GB A100 GPUs or 256GB for 40GB A100 GPUs.
Powering the Supermicro Server 2124GQ-NART is the dual socket configuration which can be populated with AMD EPYC 7003 or 7002 series processors. This configuration supports processors with up to 64x Physical Cores each for a combined total of 128 cores and 256 virtual threads. The system architecture, will support CPUs with a thermal design Point (TDP) of 280W, which includes options from 8 to 64 cores per processor. However, certain CPUs with a high TDP may only be supported under certain conditions.
4x hybrid drive bays on the front of the Supermicro A+ 2124GQ-NART are compatible with SATA/NVMe drives. SAS drives are also supported if the optional HBA is installed.
A total of 32x DIMM slots are available on the system board. When fully configured, the Supermicro 2124GQ-NART can hold up to 8TB of 3DS ECC DDR4 3200MHz SDRAM memory.
There are a total of 4x PCIe Gen4 x16 slots on the rear of the Supermicro A+ Server 2124GQ-NART, and a single PCIe Gen4 x8 slot. The 4x NVIDIA A100 SXM4 GPUs are linked together via the NVIDIA NVLink 4-GPU configuration. The 3rd Generation NVLink allows up to 2.4TB/s aggregate bandwidth and a total of 320GB of graphical memory. 4x PCIe 4.0 x16 PCIe links at the back of the chassis offer a one-to-one ratio between network interface controllers (NICs) and GPUs for reduced latency and improved throughput.
Server management can be handled through the in-suite Supermicro software. The available options include the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0, KVM with dedicated LAN, SSM, SPM, SUM, SuperDoctor 5, and Watchdog. The Aspeed AST2600 Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) is provides access to the system either on site or remotely.
The Supermicro A+ Server 2124GQ-NART is a 2U GPU server designed to handle heavy workloads, graphical tasks, as well as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The system board houses 2 sockets which are compatible with the 7003 MILAN or 7002 ROME Series AMD EPYC Processors. A total of 32x DIMM slots provide up to 8TB of memory. 4x hybrid drive bays along the front of the system provide immediate access to cached and large data sets. The system board supports a 4-GPU configuration via NVIDIA NVLink and is intended for use with either 40G or 80G SXM4 A100 GPUs.
