The Supermicro A+ Server 4124GO-NART is a dual socket server compatible with 7003 MILAN or 7002 ROME AMD EPYC Processors. This system is designed in double decker style. The top portion of the system houses the CPU sockets along with the memory and 6x storage slots. The bottom of the system houses 8x SXM2 form factor GPUs. The system is designed for High Performance Computing, AI, and Deep Learning functions.
Dual 2nd or 3rd Generation AMD EPYC series processors are supported on the Supermicro A+ Server 4124GO-NART, which offers a 4U form factor. The unique configuration of this system holds the CPU, memory, and storage configurations in the top compartment, while the bottom compartment houses the GPUs. There are a total of 32x DIMM slots on the system board along with 6x U.2 NVMe drive bays. In addition to the external drive bays, there are 2x onboard M.2 NVMe drive slots for support of the OS. The GPU configuration in the bottom compartment supports 8x NVIDIA A100 SXM4 GPUs linked together via NVIDIA’s NVLink board. Powering the system is a bank of 4x 3+1 redundant Platinum level PSUs with an optional upgrade with 4x 3000W 2+2 Titanium level PSUs.
*This system is only sold as a completely assembled system with a minimum of 2x CPUs, 512GB of memory is required for 80GB A100 GPUs or 256GB for 40GB A100 GPUs.
Depending on your choice of processors, each AMD EPYC 2nd or 3rd generation series CPU holds up to 64x Physical Cores for a total of 128x Physical Cores and 256x Virtual Threads with both CPUs installed. The system architecture supports a CPU Thermal Design Point of 280W, which includes processor options from 8 to 64 cores per processor.
6x 2.5-inch drive bays can be found on the front of the Supermicro 4124GO-NART with 4x more in the rear, and support NVMe U.2 drive formats. 8x of the drives are connected to the PCIe switches enabling GPUs in this chassis and others on the network direct storage access without going through the CPUs. In addition to the external drive bays, there are 2x onboard M.2 NVMe drive slots that can be used for additional storage or to support the OS.
Each CPU socket supports 16x DIMM slots for a total of 32x DIMM slots on the system board. A fully configured Supermicro A+ 4124GO-NART can house up to 8TB of 3DS ECC DDR4 3200MHz memory RDIMMs or LRDIMMs.
There are a total of 8x PCIe 4.0 x16 low-profile expansion slots via a PCIe switch on the rear of the Supermicro Server 4124GO-NART. The 8x NVIDIA A100 SXM4 GPUs are linked via the NVIDIA NVLink HGX 8-GPU baseboard. The 8X GPUs are supported by up to 8x high-speed network controllers for a 1:1 ratio of GPU to NIC offering superior remote direct memory access (RDMA) to other servers in the network. The 3rd Generation NVLink allows a data throughput of 2.4TB/s aggregate bandwidth. A total of 640GB of graphical memory is present via this configuration. Two other PCIe slots are available to support optional addon I/O modules (AIOM) supporting flexible OCP 3.0 card options that can be used to support other network connections.
In-suite Supermicro software handles the server management. Available management options on this system include the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0, KVM with dedicated LAN, SSM, SPM, SUM, SuperDoctor 5, and Watchdog. The Aspeed AST2600 Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) provides access to the system either on site or remotely.
The Supermicro A+ Server 4124GO-NART is 4U Rackmountable GPU Server designed to deliver up to 5 PETAFLOPS for AI, AI training and inference plus analytics. It is designed in a two-floor configuration, with the CPU sockets, DIMM slots, and Drive bays in the top part of the system and the GPU system in the bottom. Powering this system are dual CPU sockets compatible with AMD EPYC 3rd or 2nd Generation series processors. Each CPU socket supports 16x DIMM slots for a total of 32x DIMM slots. The front of the system houses 6x hot-swappable 2.5-inch U.2 NVMe drive bays, with 4x more in the rear of the chassis. The system board houses 8-GPU configuration via NVIDIA NVLink and is intended for 40GB or 80GB SXM4 A100 GPUs providing RDMA to other systems in the network.
