The 2U Supermicro A+ 2124US-TNRP server is an all-flash NVMe enterprise server offering 24 front drive bays and outfitted with the H12 generation motherboard. The server supports dual AMD EPYC 7002 and 7003 series processors with up to 64 cores, plus flexible networking options.
Designed for dual AMD EPYC CPUs from the second or third generation, the Supermicro A+ 2124US-TNRP platform supports 24x hot-swap 2.5” U.2 NVMe drive bays for better application responsiveness. The system also features 32x memory module slots with up to 8TB of registered DDR4 SDRAM. This system is ideal for virtualization, cloud computing and hyperconverged storage.
*This product is sold only as a completely assembled system with a minimum of 2 CPUs, 4 DIMMs, and 1 NVMe HDD drive. For optimal performance the server must have at least 16 DIMMs with at least 24/32 cores per CPU.
Supermicro’s 2U server is fueled by dual AMD EPYC processors from the 7002 or 7003 series of processors and can support CPUs with a thermal design point (TDP) of up to 280W. It’s important to note that the 7003 series processors drop-in support requires BIOS version 2.0 or newer. The 3rd Generation processors offer new levels of application-optimized performance per watt and per dollar, while delivering outstanding core density, superior memory bandwidth, and unparalleled I/O capacity. With support for up to 64 cores and 128 threads per socket, the A+ server supports 32 DIMMS with up to 8TB of memory capacity when fully loaded.
Using AMD EPYC processors, enables the Supermicro 2124US-TNRP to offer higher memory bandwidth, higher memory capacity, and faster memory speeds. Under the hood, the Supermicro 2124US-TNRP chassis supports 32 DIMMS of DDR4-3200MHz memory for up to 8TB of memory capacity in a 2U form factor. The server supports registered (RDIMM), load-reduced (LRDIMM), RDIMM 3DS, LRDIMM 3DS, and non-volatile (NVDIMM) memory modules with 8x memory channels per CPU.
This chassis features an all-hybrid, direct attached backplane supporting 24x all-NVMe hot-swap 2.5-inch drives on the front panel. The server can also be configured to support SAS or SATA with an optional SAS kit. Similarly, M.2 SSDs can be added to the motherboard with an optional add-on card. Only two M.2s are supported per card.
The 2124US-TNRP fully leverages riser cards to allow one double-width, full-height x16 PCIe 4.0 card. If this system will be set up with NVMe U.2 drives in all 24 front drive bays, then only PCIe slot 5 is available because the others will be used for NVMe PCIe bridge cards. Both CPUs need to be installed for full access to PCIe slots and onboard controllers. If installing a GPU, a GPU kit is needed to support up to the 10.5-inch length.
The motherboard provides remote access, monitoring, and management through the baseboard management controller (BMC) and other management controllers distributed among different system modules. The server also has flexible networking options with dual 10G SFP+ ports and dual 10G RJ45 ports on the rear of the chassis, next to a dedicated IPMI LAN port for access to the ASPEED AST2500 BMC.
Designed to deliver the highest performance, flexibility, and scalability, the Supermicro A+ 2124US-TNRP supports the H12 motherboard, which supports AMD EPYC 7002 or 7003 series processors with up to 64 cores. This system is ideal for IT environments catering to virtualization, cloud computing, and more. The all-flash NVMe server supports 24x hot-swap drive bays and up to 32x DIMMs to power mission-critical enterprise workloads.
