Offering 4x hot-pluggable nodes in a 2U form factor, the Supermicro BigTwin SuperServer 221BT-HNR supports dual 5th or 4th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. The system also supports Intel Xeon CPU Max Series with high bandwidth memory. Depending on the installed processor, up to 64 cores and 128 threads per CPU are available, plus up to 205W TDP when air cooled or up to 350W when liquid cooled.
Each node on the Supermicro 221BT-HNR features up to 4TB of memory when all 16x slots are populated with 256GB DDR5 RDIMMs. A total of 24x all-flash, hot-swap drive bays on the front panel are distributed between the 4x nodes, each with 6x 2.5" PCIe 5.0 NVMe drive bays. For more storage, or to boot the operating system, each node supports 2x M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe slots on the system board, but VROC is required for RAID. For networking capabilities, each node is equipped with 2x PCIe 5.0 x16 low-profile slots, which are accessible from the back panel. The Supermicro SuperServer 221BT-HNR is powered by dual redundant Titanium level (96%) power supplies with up to 3000W.
Supermicro SuperCloud Composer, SuperServer Manager, SuperServer Automation Assistant, and SuperDoctor 5 are among the proprietary software tools that administrators can use to manage the 221BT-HNR. SuperDoctor 5 (SD5) is easy to use and comes with web and command-line interfaces for Linux and Windows. It monitors critical system parameters such as fan speed, power consumption, voltage levels, and CPU temperature. Additionally, it helps customers stay informed about the health of their system by sending notifications via email or Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) if something goes wrong.
