Powered by dual Intel Xeon 6 6700 series processors with E-cores, the Supermicro BigTwin SuperServer 222BT-HER is ideal for an all-flash NVMe hyperconverged infrastructure, a high-performance file system, Container-as-a-Service (CaaS), and more. It features 4x hot-pluggable server nodes in a 2U chassis for a total of 8x CPUs system wide. Each CPU offers up to 144 efficiency cores or E-cores, and 144 threads. The CPUs have up to 108MB cache per CPU, and the system supports processors with a maximum TDP of up to 330W when liquid cooling is installed. A direct to chip (D2C) cold plate is optional. A TDP of up to 205W is supported with air cooled components.
Up to 4TB of memory per node can be installed on the BigTwin SuperServer 222BT-HER when all 16x memory module slots are filled with 256GB DDR5 RDIMMs. Each processor supports 8-memory channel architecture with 8x memory module slots for optimal memory performance. Memory speeds can reach up to 6400MT/s with 1x DIMM per channel (1DPC). With a total of 32x E3.S PCIe 5.0 NVMe drive bays on the front panel, each node is assigned 8x hot-swap E3.S bays. Under the hood, there are 2x M.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 NVMe slots per node for more storage or to boot the operating system in mirror-mode for redundancy.
For expansion, each node on the BigTwin 222BT-HER delivers 2x PCIe 5.0 x16 low-profile slots and a single PCIe 5.0 x16 AIOM slot that is OCP 3.0 compatible. Between all 4x nodes on the back of the system there are dual 3600W Redundant (1 + 1) Titanium Level (96%) power supplies to support the latest hardware. This platform can be managed by a variety of software utilities including SuperCloud Composer, Supermicro Server Manager (SSM), Super Diagnostics Offline (SDO), Supermicro Think-Agent Service (TAS), and SuperServer Automation Assistant (SAA).
