Featuring dual Intel Xeon 6 6700 series processors with E-cores in each of 4x server nodes, the Supermicro BigTwin SuperServer 222BT-HNC8R supports up to 4TB of DDR5 RDIMMs per node. The Intel Xeon 6 6700E CPUs have 144 cores and 144 threads, a cache of up to 108MB. The system can support CPUs with a maximum TDP of 330W when liquid cooled, or up to 205W when air cooled. Nodes support a total of 6x 2.5” NVMe/SAS drive bays, out of the 24x drive bays on the front panel.
Featuring 8-memory channel architecture, the dual processors support 16x DIMM slots with memory rates at 6400MT/s when configured with 1x DIMM per channel (1DPC). Designed for diskless HPC clusters, container-as-a-service; application accelerator, and an all-flash NVMe hyperconverged infrastructure, the 2U BigTwin SuperServer 222BT-HNC8R is powered by dual 3600W Redundant (1 + 1) Titanium Level (96%) power supplies. With the 24x up front storage bays divided equally between the server nodes, storage configurations include 2x hot-swap 2.5" PCIe 5.0 NVMe/SAS drive bays and 4x hot-swap 2.5" PCIe 4.0 NVMe/SAS drive bays. SAS 12Gbps configurations are made possible via the Broadcom 3808 controller in IT mode.
For flexible networking, there are 2x PCIe 5.0 x16 low-profile slots and 1x PCIe 5.0 x16 AIOM slot that is OCP 3.0 compatible and located on the back of each node. Dual M.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 NVMe slots with support for 22110 form factor cards by default can be found on each server node motherboard to boot the operating system, but a VROC key is required for RAID.
