The Supermicro CloudDC SuperServer 120C-TN10R is designed for supporting a number of mission critical workloads. The CPU sockets are compatible with 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. There are a total of 16x DIMM slots on the system board evenly divided between each of the sockets. The front of the chassis houses 10x hot-swappable 2.5-inch hybrid drive bays.
This system is built in a 1U Rack mountable chassis supporting dual CPU sockets. Designed to house up to 2x 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors, the Supermicro CloudDC SuperServer 120C-TN10R can be used for Web Server and Firewall applications, Data Center Optimized IaaS, Cloud Computing, Compact Server applications, DNS and Gateway Servers. Each CPU socket supports 8x DIMM slots for a total of 16x DIMM slots on the system board. On the front of the system chassis there are 10x 2.5-inch hot-swappable hybrid drive bays that can be outfitted with SAS, SATA or NVMe drive formats. The rear of the system grants access to 2x PCIe 4.0 x16 Full-Height, Half-Length slots. Power is provided by dual redundant 860W Platinum level PSUs.
The Supermicro CloudDC 120C-TN10R server supports dual 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. Due to the hardware specifications of this system the Thermal Design Point of the CPU is limited to 270W. However, even with this limitation, it will still support CPUs with up to 40x physical cores and 80x Virtual Threads. Only Platinum processors feature 40 core architecture with Gold options providing up to 32 cores, and Silver only 20 cores maximum. Each processor also supports 8x memory channels and a PCIe 4.0 bus with 64 lanes for greater I/O bandwidth and NVMe storage support.
The front of the Supermicro 120C-TN10R Server has 10x 2.5-inch NVMe/SATA/SAS hot-swap drive bays. In order to support active NVMe drives, an additional cable is required from the optional parts list. Data redundancy is available through a virtual RAID on CPU, or vROC, key. vROC provides limited RAID configurations of 0, 1, 5, or 10. 2x additional PCIe Gen 4.0 M.2 NVMe drive slots are also available on the system board for fast access storage and OS installation. A single Disk on Module or DOM can also be installed offering support for the OS or additional storage for software patches and firmware updates.
There are a total of 16x DIMM slots on the system board evenly divided between each of the sockets. The compatible memory modules on this system include DDR4 Registered DIMMs and Load Reduced DIMMs. Intel Optane persistent memory 200 series memory modules are also supported proving options for memory or storage. The maximum memory configuration on this system has two options. The first option is a 4TB configuration using 16x 256GB DRAMs. The second configuration is 6TB using 8x 256GB DRAM paired with 8x 512GB PMem. Compatible memory speeds on this system include 3200MHz, 2933MHz, and 2666MHz depending on the choice of processors and memory modules.
To expand the system capabilities of the Supermicro SuperServer 120C-TN10R there are 2x PCIe 4.0 x16 Full Height, Half Length slots accessible from the rear of the chassis. This system can also be outfitted with a maximum of 2x GPUs.
Supermicro provides a suite of software for management purposes. Options include the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0, SCC, Redfish API, SSM, Intel Node Manager, SPM, KVM with dedicated LAN, SUM, NMI, Watch Dog, and SuperDoctor 5. Supermicro’s Out of Band (OOB) Software License Key grants access to remote management features.

At full capacity, this system can provide up to 6TB of memory using a combination of DRAM and PMem. The front of the chassis has 10x hot-swappable 2.5-inch hybrid drive bays.
