The Supermicro CloudDC SuperServer 610C-TR is a 1U system that supports 2x 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. It is designed for tasks such as a Web Server, Data Center Optimized IaaS, Cloud Computing, Compact Server applications, DNS and Gateway Servers, and Edge Nodes. Each CPU socket supports 8x DIMM slots for a total of 16x DIMM slots. The front of the system houses 4x 3.5-inch SATA/SAS drive bays.
Designed with a dual socket design, the Supermicro CloudDC SuperServer 610C-TR supports 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors in its 1U chassis. There are a total of 16x DIMM slots on the system board that can provide up to 6TB of memory at capacity. To expand the system there are 2x PCIe 4.0 x16 Full-Height,Half-Length slots accessible from the rear of the system. On the front of the system, there are 4x large form factor drive bays compatible with SATA/SAS drives. 2x internal PCIe 3.0 x2 M.2 NVME 2280 drive slots can be used to provide fast secure boot of the system.
* This system is only available as a completely-assembled system with a minimum of 2x CPUs, 4x DIMMs, and 1x storage device HDD/HDS/M.2, and 1x NIC. The NIC can be either an Advanced I/O Module (AIOM) or a PCIe card.
The hardware found in the Supermicro CloudDC 610C-TR Server limits the thermal design point (TDP) of the CPU to 270W for 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. It is important to note that, CPUs with a TDP higher than 185W may also have restrictive support conditions because of power and thermal limitations. Even with these TDP limitations, the supported core count of the CPUs on this system can have up to 40x physical cores and 80x virtual threads. Each processor supports 8x memory channels and a PCIe 4.0 bus for greater I/O bandwidth and NVMe storage support.
On the front of the Supermicro 610C-TR Server there are 4x 3.5-inch SATA/SAS drive bays. The 3.5-inch trays are also able to hold 2.5-inch drives. The system board also houses 2x M.2 drive slots for fast-access storage or OS support for faster startup times. There are an optional 2x 2.5-inch peripheral drive bays.
A total of 16x DIMM slots are available on the system board of the Supermicro SuperServer 610C-TR. The DIMM slots are divided evenly between the two CPU sockets with each in charge of 8x memory module slots. The compatible memory modules on this system are DDR4 Registered DIMMs and Load Reduced DIMMs. Intel Optane persistent memory 200 series modules are supported but only using Platinum, Gold or selected Silver processors. There are two options for a maximum memory configuration. The first option is a 4TB configuration in 16x 256GB DRAM build while the second option is 6TB configuration using 8x 256GB DRAM modules paired with 8x 512GB PMem modules.
To expand system capabilities, the Supermicro CloudDC 610C-TR houses 2x PCIe 4.0 x16 Full Height, Half Length slots. There are also two advanced I/O module slots supporting a small form factor OCP 3.0 mezzanine network port card, each of which features a PCIe 4.0 interface. Both OCP AIOM units can be easily installed with a thumb screw. A single dedicated baseboard management controller LAN port on the back of the system provides access to the integrated platform management interface (IPMI) for at chassis and remote management of the system.
System management is achieved through Supermicro’s suite of software which includes the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0, SCC, Redfish API, SSM, Intel Node Manager, SPM, KVM with dedicated LAN, SUM, NMI, Watch Dog, and SuperDoctor 5. Remote access for this server is available through Supermicro’s Out of Band (OOB) Software License Key.
The 1U Supermicro CloudDC SuperServer 610C-TR is high-density dual-socket system compatible with Intel’s 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. A total of 16x DIMM slots are divided evenly between each socket for a potential memory capacity up to 6TB. The front of the chassis house 4x 3.5-inch hybrid hot-swappable drive bays. This system is designed for Web Server, Firewall Applications, CDN, Edge Nodes, and Cloud computing tasks.
