The Supermicro FatTwin A+ SuperServer F1114S-FT is a 4U system that houses 8x hot-pluggable server nodes. Each node has a single CPU socket that supports AMD EPYC 7002 or 7003 Series processors. The single CPU socket supports 16x DIMM slots compatible with DDR4 LRDIMMs. Internally there are up to 4x 2.5-inch SATA3 compatible drives, which can be substituted with 2x NVMe drives.
Designed for Hyperscale and Hyperconverged solutions, Cloud Computing, Cluster Nodes, Data Center, and HPC cluster computer node workloads, the Supermicro FatTwin A+ SuperServer F1114S-FT nodes are single socket systems compatible with 2nd or 3rd generation AMD EPYC Series processors. Each node also houses 16x DIMM slots, 4x internal 2.5-inch drive bays and optional M.2. There are 2x PCIe 4.0 x16 slots for expansion purposes as well, in addition to a PCIe 4.0 x16 AIOM slot.
Powered by the AMD EPYC 7002 or 7003 processor series, the Supermicro F1114S-FT server is compatible with CPUs up to 64 physical cores, and 128 virtual threads. Due to the thermal constraints found on this system, the maximum CPU wattage is limited to 280W. It is possible to use CPUs with higher Thermal Design Points (TDP) under very specific conditions.
Storage solutions on the Supermicro FatTwin SuperServer F1114S-FT include 4x internal 2.5-inch drive bays compatible with SATA3 drives by default. Optionally, the SATA3 bays can be converted to support 2x NVMe via an additional cable. Two NVME M.2 drives are supported in 2x dedicated slots on the motherboard and can be used to support the OS. The system also has a hard drive activity LED found on the front of each server node.
Each node on the FatTwin AS-F1114S-FT Server holds 16x DIMM slots which are compatible with DDR4 Load Reduced DIMMs. 4TB of memory are supported on this system at a speed of up to 3200 MHz. Error correction code is supported and allows for the correction in single-bit errors and can detect double-bit errors.
Expanding the capabilities of the Supermicro FatTwin F1114S-FT is achieved through 2x PCIe 4.0 x16 (low-profile riser) slots which can be accessed through the rear of the server node. There is also a specialized PCIe 4.0 x16 slot which is deployed as an Advanced Input/Output Module offering flexible network controller options. 2x USB 3.0 ports can be found per node, plus an integrated platform management interface (IPMI) LAN port for management of the system.
Onboard system management is provided through IPMI 2.0, with KVM with dedicated LAN. Applications to help manage the system include, Supermicro Server Manager, Supermicro Update Manager, SuperDoctor 5, and Watch Dog. The SuperDoctor 5 software allows for remote management through a standard browser and can be configured to send email notifications detailing system temperature, fan speed, and system health.
The Supermicro FatTwin A+ SuperServer F1114S-FT features a 4U chassis that holds 8x single-socket server nodes. The nodes are compatible with AMD EPYC 7003 or 7002 series processors with up to 64 cores. 16x DIMM slots are available per node along with 4x internal 2.5-inch drive bays. This system is designed for hyperscale and hyperconverged networks, for cloud computing and the data center, and for use as a cluster node in high-performance computing applications.
