The Supermicro FatTwin A+ SuperServer F2014S-RNTR is a 4U server that holds 4x independent, hot-pluggable nodes. The system is designed for Hyperscale/Hyperconverged applications as well as High Performance Computing, Data Center Applications, Scale Out Storage and other intensive computing applications. Each node on the system has a single AMD EPYC 7003 or 7002 Series Processor that supports 8x DIMM slots for up to 2TB of memory. Externally, there are 8x hot-swappable 3.5-inch drive bays per node.
Designed for heavy workloads such as Data Center Enterprise Applications and Scale Out Storage, the Supermicro SuperServer F2014S-RNTR is compatible with the new AMD EPYC 3rd Generation Series Processors. Each node on the system supports 8x DIMM slots and 8x hot-swappable 3.5-inch drive bays that can house both SATA or NVME drives.
*This system is only sold as a completely assembled unit with a minimum of 1x CPU, 4x DIMMs, 1x HDD/NVMe, and 1x AIOM/AOC NIC card per node.
The individual nodes on the Supermicro FatTwin A+ F2014S-RNTR support a single socket which is compatible with AMD EPYC 7003 or 7002 Series Processors. Processors with up to 64 cores and a Thermal Design Point (TDP) of 280W can be chosen for this system. Under specific conditions, a CPU with a higher TDP can also be supported.
Storage on the Supermicro F2014S-RNTR is provided through 8x 3.5-inch drive bays. Each of the 4x front server nodes has 6x drives compatible with SATA or optionally NVMe drive formats. The rear 2x drive bays are compatible with both SATA and NVMe drives. 4X SATA/PCIe 4.0 M.2 drives can also be installed directly on the system board, along with 2x SuperDOM storage devices that can be used to boot the system.
Each node houses 8x DIMM slots supported by the single CPU socket which support 8x memory channels that can be outfitted with DDR4 3200MHz Synchronous Dynamic Random-Access Memory (DRAM). Compatible memory sizes include 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 34GB, 128GB, and 256GB. Error Detection is also available, with single-bit errors being possible to correct while double-bit errors can be detected.
To extend the capabilities of the system, a single PCIe 4.0 x16 (low-profile riser) slot is available. In addition, there is also a single PCIe 4.0 x8 (internal RAID AOC) slot. The rear of the system holds 2x USB 3.0 ports. Four PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots on the system board also support 4x M..2 SATA3 drives.
Management of the system is provided by the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0, KVM with dedicated LAN accessible from the back of the system through a dedicated RJ45 port. Additional management applications include Supermicro Server Manager, Supermicro Update Manager, SuperDoctor 5, and Watch Dog. The SuperDoctor 5 software is able to provide remote management features through email notifications to a standard email client reporting system temperature, system health, and fan speed.
The Supermicro FatTwin A+ SuperServer F2014S-RNTR has a 4U chassis that holds 4x independent single socket server nodes. Each node supports a single AMD EPYC 7003 or 7002 Series Processor, 8x DIMM slots and 8x 3.5-inch drive bays for SATA and NVMe storage devices. Supermicro designed this system for tasks such as Scale Out Storage, Data Center Applications, HPC, Big Data, and other compute-intensive workloads.
