Featuring dual processors in each of the 8x hot-pluggable system nodes, the Supermicro FatTwin SuperServer F619P2-RC0 platform is compatible with first- and second-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. At 4U, each node is packed with 12x memory module slots with a capacity of up to 3TB of memory, and a maximum capacity of up to 24TB in the 4U chassis. Intel’s Optane DC Persistent memory modules (DCPMM) are also supported for better performance and resiliency.
With 8x server nodes, each with support for up to 3TB of memory with all 12x DIMMs populated, the memory can run at speeds of up to 2933MHz. Ideally used for data centers, cloud computing, and high-performance computing, the Supermicro FatTwin SuperServer F619P2-RC0 packs in the performance with support for 1st and 2nd gen Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs, M.2 slots, and NVMe drives, plus support for persistent memory modules.
Equipped with 3x fans per node for 24x fans total, this system is designed to hold dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors from the 1st or 2nd generation with a thermal design point (TDP) ranging from 70-165W. The CPUs, code named Cascade Lake and Skylake, respectively, support up to 28 physical cores and 56 virtual cores. Each CPU on the FatTwin F619P2-RC0 supports 6x DIMM slots with one memory module per memory channel, for a total of 12x DIMMs, and memory speeds of up to 2933MHz but only when using second-generation CPUs. The 8x server boards are powered by four 2200W power supplies and can be shut down independently with the power button on its own control panel.

The maximum memory capacity on this system is 24TB with all 8x server nodes at maximum capacity. 3DS RDIMM/LRDIMM and Intel Optane DC Persistent memory modules (DCPMM) are compatible. A total of 12x memory modules are supported per node, but memory speeds differ depending on which type of memory and CPUs are installed. When using standard DDR4 memory, each node will support up to 3TB of memory with speeds of up to 2933MHz can be achieved. DCPMM offer a maximum of 2TB of memory, per node, with speeds of up to 2666MHz. Only second-generation processors support DCPMM.
There are 48 drive bays total and two different storage configurations on the Supermicro F619P2-RC0. Users can choose from 6x hot-swap 2.5” SAS/SATA drive bays, or 2x hot-swap 2.5” SAS/SATA bays plus 4x optional NVMe U.2 storage drives, per node. A single PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2 card can also be installed on the motherboard of each of the 8x server nodes for additional storage or to support the OS. An optional SAS controller supports 12Gbps access speeds via a discrete Broadcom 3008 controller.
Low-profile PCIe 3.0 x16 slot on the back of each node are located next to a single Super I/O Module (SIOM) card for a variety of networking options. As stated above, the server supports a single M.2 card with support for 2260, 2280, and 22110 form factors on each of the 8x server nodes.
The platform offers various management options including IPMI 2.0, SuperDoctor 5, and Watch Dog. SuperDoctor 5 allows users to monitor the F619P2-RC0 and configure the temperature, fan speed and more, both remotely and locally using a standard HTML browser.
The Supermicro FatTwin SuperServer F619P2-RC0 is a flexible system with the ability to deploy new technologies now and into the future.
