The Supermicro FatTwin SuperServer F619P3-FT chassis is a multi-node, hyperconverged system with support for up to 8x dual-socket blade servers. All dual-socket server nodes can be populated with first- or second-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. This 4U chassis is ideal for many different applications including engineering, file and storage deployments, research, and much more.
With more cores, more memory, and faster memory, the Supermicro FatTwin SuperServer F619P3-FT leverages dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors within 8x sleds. Each server node supports 2x fixed 3.5” SATA drive bays up front, and up to 3TB of memory when all 12x memory module slots are populated. This system can be used for cloud computing and data centers, plus general server and enterprise server applications.
8x separate nodes on the Supermicro SuperServer FatTwin F619P3-FT are hot-swappable and connect to the server backplane by means of an adapter card. Each server node is outfitted with dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors from the 1st or 2nd generation with up to 28 cores and a thermal design point from 70W to 165W. Each CPU supports 6x DIMM slots, for a total of 12x DIMMs, and memory speeds of up to 2933MHz, but only when using second-generation CPUs. All of the server boards are powered by four 2200W power supplies and can be shut down independently with the power button on its own control panel.
*Both CPUs need to be installed for full access to the PCIe slots, DIMM slots, and onboard controllers.
Each processor features up to 6x DIMMs, for a total of 12x DIMMs per node. 3DS RDIMM/LRDIMM and Intel Optane DC Persistent memory modules (DCPMM) are supported. Up to 3TB of standard DDR4 memory in each server blade offers speeds of up to 2933MHz. Data centric persistent memory modules (DCPMM) can be populated in all 12 slots and offer up to 2TB of memory with speeds of up to 2666MHz. Only second-generation processors support DCPMMs.
Each of the 8x server nodes on the Supermicro F619P3-FT can be outfitted with 1x or 2x fixed 3.5” SATA drives, totaling 16x storage devices in the F619P3-FT chassis. An onboard SATA controller, per node, supports RAID configurations of 0, 1, 5, 10 and features a 6Gbps access speed.
Two low-profile 3.0 cards can be installed in front mezzanine slots of each of the 8x server nodes in the chassis. The motherboard also supports a single Super I/O Module (SIOM) card to allow customers to choose between 1Gb/s and 100Gb/s networking solutions. In addition, a dedicated slot on the Super X11 motherboard also includes 2x PCIe/SATA hybrid M.2 slots with 2260, 2280, and 22110 form factors to provide more features and space.
There are quite a few options for managing this multi-node server enclosure. Management options for the SuperServer F619P3-FT is provided by Intel Node Manager, IPMI 2.0, SuperDoctor 5 (SD5), and Watch Dog. SD5 uses a web-based interface to provide system status, monitoring, and warnings.
The Supermicro FatTwin SuperServer F619P3-FT is the ideal machine to add to any network infrastructure. The server provides plenty of density for data centers with 8x dual-socket nodes running Xeon Scalable CPUs in a 4U chassis. With up to 3TB of memory, per node, and the option to install Intel Optane DC Persistent memory modules, this system can take on a variety of standard and mission critical workloads.
