Designed for high-performance computing applications, the 4U Supermicro GPU SuperServer 420GU-TNXR can host up to 4x NVIDIA HGX A100 GPUs. It features dual sockets supporting 3rd generation Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs with up to 40 cores and with 8-channel memory supports up to 8TB. 10x hot-swap 2.5-inch bays can be outfitted with SAS3, SATA3 or NVMe drive formats.
With support for up to 8TB of memory, the Supermicro GPU SuperServer 420GU-TNXR is also a great match for in-memory database applications, plus Ai and Deep Learning Training. The SXM4 GPUs provide additional compute and exceptional GPU to GPU interconnect speed through the NVIDIA NVLink. It offers up to 6x PCIe 4.0 slots on the back of the chassis, in addition to dual OCP mezzanine card slots for flexible networking options, including remote direct memory access through another networked server. The system is powered by 4x redundant Titanium level power supply units.
With 2x sockets the system can provide up to 80x physical cores and 160 virtual threads thanks to 3rd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. 3rd generation Platinum Intel Xeon Scalable processors can each support up to 40 cores and provide 8-channel memory architecture. They also provide up to 64 lanes of PCIe 4.0 bandwidth which is twice the capacity compared to PCIe 3.0 supported on the 1st and 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors.
Memory speed has also been upgraded to 3200MHz depending on your choice of memory modules, CPUs and configuration. Other memory speeds include 2933MHz, and 2666MHz using ECC DDR4 Registered (RDIMM) or Load-Reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules. Each CPU supports 16x memory module slots for a total of 32x memory module slots with both processors installed. With all slots loaded with 256GB memory modules, the system can deliver up to 8TB of memory, ideal for in-memory analytics applications.
10x 2.5-inch storage bays line the front of the system and can support SATA3 and NVMe drive types. The onboard SATA3 controller can provide software RAID at 0, 1, 5, and 10. A single x4 PCIe 4.0 slot on the system board can support either an NVMe or SATA M.2 drive to be used exclusively to boot the system.
An Out-Of-Band management Package is available on the Supermicro GPU SuperServer 420GU-TNXR with the SFT-OOB license. An integrated RJ45 port on the back of the system provides access to the baseboard management controller (BMC). It is intelligent platform management interface 2.0 (IPMI) and Redfish API compliant in addition to providing virtual medial over LAN and KVM-over-LAN support. Also provided is the Supermicro SuperDoctor 5 for remote management plus Watch Dog
Outfitted with dual 3rd generation CPUs, the Supermicro GPU SuperServer 420GU-TNXR can apply up to 80 cores of processing power augmented by up to 4x SXM4 GPUS for compute intensive applications. For in-memory applications and analytics, it can support up to 8TB of memory. This system can be outfitted to support a number of high-performance workloads and offers flexible networking options o support your needs.
